Not intentional, but it worked out that this content is a few years old. The truck is still going strong 226k miles as of February 2023. All the injectors still seem to be doing just fine.

The amount of different chemicals you expose your hands to is astounding. That's coming from a daily diesel mechanic.
@silvergrizzly316 Жыл бұрын
Indeed. He's got a good video here but all those chems just soak into the blood stream. For a long time I thought if ya didn't have grease on your hands, you weren't working. But as I got older and understood the body a little better not to mention being warned about the toxic effects of all these oils have, I wear the rubber gloves now and when they tear I put on new ones.

The screws holding the solenooid and the poppet body are Torx Plus, and the one holding the aramture plate to the poppet valve uses what people usually call a game bit. It's apparently used on gaming consoles also.

22:51 I remanufactured EUI injectors for years. We had a machine that forced this gray puddy shit they called media "I think it was impregnated with diamonds" through the spray tip holes. Also, we would machine the main valve seat, the body seat, the needle valve seat in the spray tip... This stuff was absolutely critical and you'd analyze the seats. So few of them would pass. In addition, we would measure the spring force with the whole stack of spray tip, needle, spring, shim to ensure it would allow the valve to open at the correct pressure. It's called tolerance stacking. How are you verifying this? It's been so long that I'm sure I'm forgetting things in addition to all this. I would not recommend anyone rebuild diesel fuel injectors. Maybe you'll get lucky I guess.

Hi. I had the exact same thing happen to the nozzle on one after sonic cleaning and then assembly. Torqued to 75 ft lbs and as I was busy shimming the top, it just popped. Any idea what would cause this?

@@mattm3492 You could have just said, show me. But instead you want to act like a clown. So answer me this, at 6:56 in video when you lift off the plate, the drainback notch in the base is opposite the clamp "flat side" you refer to it as. Which is the direction of the connector, the top side, which makes sense because that's the bottom. But at 35:30 in the video, you line them all up with drain back notch at the top.
All the rebuild kits I've been seeing have a crappy clamp. You interested in selling yours by chance?
