Yes those changes increased while we were there from 1983-1994 and continue showing every time we visit. Thanks for showing!

Germany possessed the finest legacy of mediaeval/renaissance buildings outside Italy before ww2. Such a legacy was very nearly wiped out so it’s only natural that they should try and make amends now to at least reflect something that was lost.

this report is wrong: the dom-römer project is liked and loved by most of the city. there is simply a vocal minority of people that disregard that because they hate what the rebuilding symbolizes. a look back into the past.

Very interesting and nicely done. I did not know that Goethe lived in Frankfurt am Main. I did not like much the reconstruction of the Dom-Römer district/area; the houses do not really look authentic/traditional. I believe the idea was "Let´s do it as quickly and as cheaply as possible". The Opera looks wonderful. Thank you for the video! PS: Something that almost nobody mentions is the fact that the sadistic and methodical destruction of all major German cities in WW2 was the result of a carefully conceived strategy by Churchill and Arthur Harris whose aim was to kill the greatest number of civilians to destroy the moral and fighting spirit of the German people. That was/is known as "carpet bombing" or "area bombing".
