I hope you lubricated the front and rear oil seals before press-fitting them into place, otherwise you'll wear them out pretty much on first start-up. A light coating of assembly grease will reduce any friction wear between them and the crank. Good luck 👍

Another great video it was definitely worth the wait .And the back cover was a pain by the time you have messed around trying to fit it and if it was figure out how not to pinch the head gasket its time to take it off and wipe all the sealant that's gone off and start again same on the back timing cover of the bmw n47 engine Obviously at the factory the cover goes on before the heads are fitted so its easy but no thought about any repairs in the future it would be easier if it was in 2 parts or a small push in top seal etc Anyway thumbs dean great content and the Audi rs3 videos are great 👍

@@PaneraiTravel I always thought the outer edge of the oil seal should be unlubricated and the inner part lubricated. You don't want the shaft and the seal to start up dry😅
@PaneraiTravel Жыл бұрын
@@markwalton8644 The embedded PTFE in the seal itself is what lubricates the frictional surfaces. Adding oil or grease can introduce channels which could potentially allow oil to leak through. Therefore install dry on both inner and outer surfaces. We are all experts with Google 😉
