I agree about that thing with you said about remembering older cars being new. My friend has a 2012 Ford Escape that is in horrible shape. I remember seeing those at the New York Auto Show a few years ago

Yep exactly. I now see cars at the junkyard I saw at the NY auto show too. Its crazy.

Word to the wise, do not race/do burnouts in your vintage daily driver. : ) Btw, you don't get to talk about being old yet. I have clothing items older than you.

While you are right, wheres the fun in that. Later on I discovered the reason this one failed was because the timing chain jumped a tooth and the engine was running 30 degrees advanced at idle and something like 50 degrees when you get on it. This was causing pre-ignition which destroyed the engine (I could hear it but could never figure it out).
