One thing this series showed me is that most of the media reports of the Celtics having a horrible locker room looked pretty stupid. Seeing them get in a 3-0 hole and clawing back to tie it, they genuinely liked each other, and seeing them after the game 6 buzzer beater confirmed it even more. Ofc the basketball gods said “aint no way any team is coming back from down 0-3” and pulled out a Tatum injury in the first seconds of play, and that was all she wrote. No one could make up for what Tatum gives that offense, and they were completely stunned from the jump. Jaylen had the worst game of his career probably, but at least he owned up to it and said that he failed to step up and lead the team on the court. Last playoff run people was deadass saying that Jaylen was a better playoff performer than Tatum, and they were pretty much right, but it was flipped this year. I think you keep Jaylen, but don’t give the super max extension, and this time actually have a coaching staff that is planned and picked before the season starts. Jaylen may leave if they don’t offer a supermax, but its not like he can get it anywhere else, and the salary cap under the new CBA sounds like it’s going to make it damn near impossible to even have two supermax players.
