Ok so here are maybe the reasons why you were losing a lot of chips even though you had the best team in the league First of all your bench may have a lot of good ovr players but you never paid much attention to their positions like in 39:04 your bench had 5 big men so basically when they were subbed in majority of them were playing off position which ended up making them lose easily win able games . you should focus on adding better players for that specific position (2nd string or 3rd string positional players) rather than adding high ovr players Second is checking the EWA stat (Estimated wins added) Even tho you have a lot of good player they might have a negative wins added rating.I once had Jaylen Brown in a Raptors rebuild where he had a negative net rating due to which we were losing games, traded him for lower ovr but more positive EWA players and we were drastically better 3rd is changing the playbook during the playoffs Majority of the finals you lost were most probably because your players were guarding the wrong players sometimes you need to change who should guard who for example once in a playoff series against OKC ; I was losing even though I had a team 2 of 90+ and 2+ 88 rated auto generated players then I checked the play book and saw my PG had no perimeter defense to guard shai’s 3’s so I put my SF on him and instantly won the series Hopefully this might help you!

If you adjust the contract sliders that helps with players sitting in free agency also. Min Rating: 65 Max Rating 65 Salary Curve 40 Player Potential 30 Durabiliity 25 Minutes 25 Fame 15 That's what I use, good mix of keeping things somewhat realistic while also making the game playable for many seasons.

With the contracts situation, perhaps adjust sliders? Might make the contracts a tad more unrealistic but you are good at regulating yourself and it means everyone gets a contract. I usually run min rating 75 max rating 85 with the salary curve at 70. Also take the potential scale down to stop rookies asking for 30mil

Yeah I use 2K Popboy's sliders for that specifically. The highest overall in FA is usually around 77 or 75. Ever since I started using his sliders, I haven't had any 80+ overall players in FA. Another trick I do is when a player is retiring and I see they have another year left, I override their retirement so they play one more year. Just to make the rosters more balanced so it's more likely players resign with their teams.

Im not sure if this is something you do off camera, but with these longer rubuilds, have you ever messed with the shot tendencies? I would imagine that as the years go on, some players you pick up are going to be expected to play a different role than they did on their previous team. Im not sure it'll make a difference, but I feel that touches and tendencies can ruin a "good" team by having the top 2 or 3 dominating the ball.

I’d just do the ‘24 draft and auto generate them after. I get wanting real names, but tbh a lot of guys who are in those ‘25 classes, and ESPECIALLY ‘26 either don’t come in that draft, (go in next one, or even one after that) or don’t get drafted at all, etc. Then of course nobody has any real idea of how good these guys are 1-2 classes out or where they’re going to go anyway. At least with ‘24, particularly when it’s later in the season (past ASB, but especially when it’s March or after March) the classes start to really take shape in terms of who’ll be in them and roughly where they’ll be. ‘24 is a weird draft, usually there’s at least say 5 guys minimum that you know are going in the T10 for sure by late March…but even with this draft and how wide some guys ranges are, there shouldn’t be anyone projected in the T5 who go in the 2nd round or something. So yea I’d just do 2024 then auto generate them…the auto gen classes really aren’t that bad anyway. You’ll get some amazing OP guy at #1 sometimes, but you don’t really see 10 guys that are all 77-80+ overalls or whatever. Some of the user created drafts are super OP and having 3 classes of those can completely change the landscape of the league and make 10y rebuilds less fun. Just my opinion.

We don’t know exactly how much his contract will be yet IRL. The current projected cap is $141M, the NBA usually is on the cautious side when doing the projections…they’d much rather lowball it than overestimate for obvious reasons. If it’s 141M, it’d be 49.35M Y1, so about 5/286.2M. That is about a 3.65% raise in the cap. I don’t see it going up more than around 5%, which would be roughly 142.822M. 143M is like 5.15%. So it should be between 49.35M and 50M, maybe slightly over 50 Y1. If it’s 50, it’d be 5/290M. I’d expect between that 5/286.2M and 5/290M figure. But ya his salary this year (base) is about 28.5M…with 3.3M in likely incentives. 6/315M - 6/322M basically.
