You can. You have to go into coach gameplan and go to the different teams to set rotations and who defends who. I do it in rebuilds mainly for teams such as the Rockets and the Thunder when I have say a SF who could defend Harden but he normally wouldnt.

If I could add an stipulation, you can only trade/sign/draft a specific player once every 2 players. So if you trade for Devin Booker one video, you can't use him in the next one. Just makes things fresher. Also, only 1 of your starters can play over 40 minutes a game (unless multiple are 91+ overalls) and play at least 8 man line up, just to keep it realistic, plus makes you value your bench.
