I love what you said about "temporary becomes permanent" and I've been victim of that so often in my workspace. Seeing your thought process in the changes you're making to suit your workflow is inspiring, Jens. You've left room for continued growth even after multiple decades of refining your process. Very cool. Cheers!

Good day, Jens. Another enjoyable and inspirational episode in the books. Watching you has really made me aware of some organizational changes needed in my life. I find your methods extremely helpful when applied to my own situations and circumstances. I usually don't follow many types of "regularly scheduled programs." i.e. KZbin videos or podcasts, etc. Although there are a select few that I do, it can be difficult to find time for all of them. Your KZbin series is certainly one I keep up with not only for the enjoyable edc/knife/tool aspects but also because you are an inspirational person to me who I actually learn from. Having people in our lives that we look up to, respect, and again learn from is very important. What I gain from watching your episodes can't be understated. I greatly enjoy your content from an edc/knife/tool hobbyist point of view. At the same time, you are taking on a sort of teaching role for your viewers. The knowledge I gain from you from on a variety of subjects is greatly appreciated and applied in my own life. I look forward to what is next and can't thank you enough for always taking the time to share with us what is important to you. You are a positive, smart, and talented person who sets such a shining example of how to take pride in what you do and to see it through to the end. Thank you, and I wish you the best in your shop transformation. Christopher

Hi Chris Thank you so much for your very kind words. It really means a lot to hear all these thoughts. I have met nothing but positive response from everyone in this community of makers and have always been able to find answers to my questions. This channel is one of my ways of giving back so it really warms my heart to hear that people like you are inspired by what I do and what I talk about. Happy to hear that my channel is one of the channels that you take time to watch. I know from myself it is hard to keep up with everthing you want to stay updated on. Thanks so much.

I am a new knife maker and my shop is currently half of a one car garage… some day I hope to have the shop of my dreams which is already floating in my head;) your shop is quite enviable thanks for bringing us along.

Half a garage is a ton of space if you use it right :) Never let the size of shop hold you back.

@@jensanso So far it hasn’t really held me back too much but I don’t have nearly all the toys (tools) I want ;) and everything is on wheels, I guess I don’t really need two anvils… HA! It will do for now just have to be creative with the 200 square feet… 18.58 meters squared…

Oh man I love organisation, philosophy around that and the general way or making things work better in the workshop! Jens maybe you have some recommendation videos/books on shop organization philosophy?
@jensanso
@jensanso 11 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoy it...! I don't really have any recommendations for shop organizing other than one book in particular. It is the Tactical folding knife by Terzuola. While the book is mainly about knife making it also has some thoughts on shop organizing and Bob is one I have always admired for his shop routines, methods etc. I do recommend subscribing to Tested.com with Adam Savage. He is really the master of shop organization. Also his book "Everything is a Hammer" is highly recommendable....ok so I di have some book recommendations :)

Great episode!! What about lightning? I guess the right light source is somewhat important in your process?
@jensanso
@jensanso 11 ай бұрын
Oh for sure...I have always had a very strong opinion on lighting in the shop. I have general ceiling lamps and for each work area I have several angle poise style lamps. In danish "Arkitekt lamper". I have always favored those and always use a high output bulb. For my grinders I have a operating room lamp that gives fantastic focused light. Great light and optivisors are life essential for me..!
