I know this is an old thread but thought I would ask as I can’t find where it came from even on the schematic. While tearing about a k46, I found what almost looks like a metal quick connect clip jammed into one of the holes of the center section assembly on the underside once removed from the shaft. Any idea where that clip or whatever it is came from? Almost looks like the number 3 if you get what I am saying. Thanks

My smaller transmission on the old craftsmen is different but probably looks similar and I'll be checking out the brake area on mine inside. Gotta finish the other craftsmen first though for right now I'm just redoing the 38 inch deck I'm probably not gonna use it but it'll get redone for maybe later or for back up

Clearances between pistons and cylinder housings in pump and motor.

Not easily. I would just split the case and do a good cleanup while in there.

If it’s the actual shaft you need, I would contact tuff torq specifically for a piece like that. If it’s just the retainer roll pin, you can buy them online or at most agricultural equipment parts suppliers.

I always thought all those metal shavings come from the brake disc since it is metal to metal.

The wet disc brake assembly experiences very little wear. I imagine it does contribute some of the particle matter to the case, but generally speaking it’s the pistons and housing cylinders that experience the majority of the wear.
