Hi, am so glad how they handle it. How companies deal with mistakes shows if they are worthy of a recommendation. Thanx for the update.

Thank you, Sir, for highlighting this possible problem. I just checked my own Optimus Gemini, and am pleased that it is not amongst the numbers being recalled! That Optimus is taking this problem seriously, just reinforces my already strong admiration of that brand. As a stove collector, I have Optimus stoves that to back to the early 1900's! Thanks, again, for your informative video, and God Bless!

What a shame because I really the compact design. Looking forward to the new model of dual stove Optimus come up with. Hopefully it will address all the designs issues you have helpfully highlighted.

Thx for you video Gijs. I really like this stove as there is nothing else that is so compact and in my opinion a piece of art ;-). Nevertheless, safety should be first. I will keep mine as well and will use it not that often anymore and only under close supervision. To mitigate the problem you mentioned if you have to separate the gas canister from the hose, I came up with another solution for myself. I use the MSR Low down adapter in between the canister and the Gemini. This allows me to turn off the gas next to the canister just in case. I do not recommend or advise to do so!

:-) Groetjes weer.

Disappointing to see that even in year 2023 that there are so many design engineeres which are not able to to their job properly.

Thanks of the review. I motorcycle camp so size and weight are very important to me. I was very exited to learn about this stove because I needed a two burner stove instead of packing two MSR whisperlites with two canisters. The best I could find was there Jetboil Genesis. But that gigantic canister that it used put me off. I really hope Optimus listens to you and corrects some of the flaw. For size, weight and price this stove is perfect for me if it was not for those flaws you pointed out. BTW one question do you HAVE to use the Optimus canisters. Can you substitute canisters with the same fuel from other companies. I can see that being a show stopper for me if I was in need of fuel and was at a location where there was no Optimus canisters available.

Hi John, Thank you for the comment🙏. I also hope they to a Mark II. You don't need to use Optimus canisters. I mostly use Primus because they are widely available. Enjoy the Outdoors and Stay Safe! Cheers, Gijs

@@wildernessjunky6056 Saw it, Brought it. There is also one made by a company call Naturehike that I really like because it looks a lot more robust and durable. But is is more expensive than the BRS. Naturehike 2-in-1 Gas Camping Stove
