”Rapsodia” is my all-time-favourite Eurovision song❤️

That's my favorite Italian Eurovision song at least. It's not even my winner that year but it sends shivers down my spine when I listen to it and the incredible raspy voice of Mia Martini.

Thank you so much for making this. 1992 was very special for me as that was the first Eurovision I ever saw. As an American I had never heard of it. I was living in Berlin and my German boyfriend and I watched it live together. I of course loved Linda Martins song, and became a Michael Ball fan. My other main memory was Wind representing Germany. Other friends then made tapes of albums of some of the best hits of past years that I wore out. I was able to eventually get CD’s of some of the recordings, but wasn’t able to watch the contest for 25 years. I was so grateful when I was finally able to watch it again in the US starting a few years ago, and am a devoted fan. This brought back special memories of the best year of my life. Thank you so much!!!

Portugal, Italy, Greece and Israel are my standouts in 1992 but it's not the strongest year. I also definitely prefer Terminal 3 to Why me?

I remember watching the preview show for the Eurovision 1992 songs and Italy and Austria stood out in different ways: Italy because it had no music video nor a taped performance, just an audio of the song and pictures of Mia, and Austria because the preview video was borderline softporn.

I remember the Rapsodia video with the green countryside and the yellow flowers. Don't remember the Austrian one, but I had a look: what on earth was the thinking behind that???!!!

My top 10 is: 10) Iceland (7th) -> I really like the energy these ladies show. 09) United Kingdom (2nd) -> Great British entry. 08) Denmark (12th) -> Catchy. 07) Norway (18th) -> It gets me warm for some reason. 06) Luxembourg (21st) -> Kinda surprisingly. 05) Yugoslavia (13th) -> A nice way to retire. 04) Ireland (1st) -> The song that got the three years long party started. A great one but the best has yet to come (I'm looking at you, 1993). 03) Malta (3rd) -> Classic ballad. 02) Italy (4th) -> The best Italian entry. Period. 01) Cyprus (11th) -> That song and its mystery almost make me want to go visit the unknown magical places in Cyprus (if there are any).

I'm surprised that the language rule wasn't abandoned after this year. Top 3 all English songs. It was clear in the 90s that juries just wanted songs in English.

If 1991 was an epic mess, 1992 veered to the other extreme with production too prim and propper that it became too dull.
@ar5000011 ай бұрын
The stage was certainly a bit dull and drab in 1992. 1991 was cheerful and the stage was bright. And a fantastic way to learn Italian.

week songs, badly performed by an orchestra, everything had sounded like some radio TV show from the '60s, the stage too dark, it seemed like they had only two cameras to shoot the whole event, one of the worst Eurovision in '90s, only good thing is that Greece,France and Italy was epic here
