Can you imagine how different this edition would have been if the 1969's edition only had a single winner? We would have 17 countries competing in 1970 because Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Portugal would not have boycotted the contest.

I think the aforementioned countries (minus Denmark) were more annoyed by their poor performances in 69, and just used the tied result a basis to make their protest seem more acceptable to the EBU. Of course, the Nordic countries were also very pissed off that Ireland and the UK could sing in English (and to an extent, the Francophone countries’ ability to sing in French) while they were lumbered with having to sing in their far less accessible Nordic languages.

Not to be that guy, but the french translation is a bit off It’d be "I fell from Sky/the sky" the word for Heaven(s) would be paradis Oh it’s for Luxembourg😅

12- It's cute but boring 11- His song from 1978 is better 10- Don't remember this very well 9- It's grown on me slowly 8- This shouldn't have ended with 0 points 7- A gorgeous winner. Ireland at its best 6- Our entry. Mary said she found the experience humiliating. Shame because I like it. 5- Not my favourite from Katja Ebstein but it's good 4- Very pretty song and suit 3- Marlene Dietrich will be spinning in her grave 2- My favourite. A jolly ditty 1- He's trying to sing again next year for Italy. Hopefully it's better than this.

Only Italy and Luxembourg. I use to like Julio Iglesias, but his song from 1970 is not good. Sorry, it was rather uninteresting year.
