This was actually my favourite resident evil game. I know most people hated it but I thought the story and music was brilliant and the atmosphere of this game was better than all the others in my opinion. Just the voice acting sucked that was all.

most people liked it, but I think it was released on the dreamcast first, but it sold like crap and back to Sony. way better then RE3. Sony really pissed off capcom or something at that time. Capcom was stupid to abandoned their RE fan base from the PS. Nintendo got RE4, RE1 remake and RE0 first about the same time. But it sold like crap (compared to PS) and back to sony PS again and all platforms.

I agree... Contractual obligations from Sony demanding a 3rd installment meant they turned a sidestory into 3 even though this is more an actual and canonical sequel. What I notice is that some people pay more attention to Nemesis than Veronica, so hopefully this helps clear that up.

RE3 is also the only numbered game to have an add on to the title(nemisis) which is weird since only spin off games gave them and no other numberd installment has had one after. CV is the true 3rd game in that is extends the lore and takes place outside of RC. Hopefully they will remake it after the RE 2 remake.

@@P33b4Ugo5omwh3r3 the contract with Sony was that for them to make another game on the dreamcast was that they had to do a trilogy for the ps1 and include the number 3 in the title from what I remember they weren't even thinking of doing nemesis and it was thrown together with data left over from re2 and promise to include scenes from re2 or you seeing leon or clare in the background or help them/clear a path for them as the game takes place right before and after re2 but couldn't do to system limitations and time cost To me Code Veronica will be 3 in the series as I see nemesis as a DLC before DLC /side story

RE CV had a very complicated storyline which makes it very special amongst the franchise. Definitely in my top RE games, and since it takes places a couple of months after RE2, would make it a direct sequel to RE2 and worthy of proper Remake

It's funny how RE switched from riddles, horror and storytelling to pure action with little horror in it! They literally implemented action even in cutscenes! The survivors and only RE's to me are the ones from 0 to 3.

For some characters it makes sense tho. After RE and RE2. Chris and Leon became soilders of sorts..they were combat trained and conditioned to fight BOWs..so their characters would have been far more action oreiented because they couldnt just be regular survivors anymore. Even Claire after CV and RE2 was far more equipped to deal with the BOWs than a civilian. The only way for the games to go back to their survivir horror was seen in the spin off games and RE7..by showing either the RC outbreak with new characters or a whole new lead that wasnt police or military. The other RE characters just wouldnt feel right as just horror survivors after all they've been through and people would be upset with lack of character development or these character being unequipped after everything thats happend.

As a big resident evil fan, I like this game but from the old school fix camera resident evils, this is my less favourite game from fix camera era(RE 0, 1, 1 remake, 2, 3 and code veronica). The game have good graphics but everything else is kinda the same, almost no innovation. Some enemies look stupid like the "arm" creature, look like a dumbass lol, and some of the characters are annoying like Alfred! The story is actually good and interesting. Unlike many people I like Steve and its a shame he didn't appear more in the RE canon games. I don't get why people hate Steve so much honestly, I think its good character and its well developed, and have story and a motivation behind him, I guess people hate him because of the "voice actor", I need to agree on that, was a poor casting choice for that character, his voice is a bit annoying sometimes.

In all the commentary about this game I've never once heard anybody mention that the zombies heads dont explode when you headshot them with the shotgun or any other weapons. It's a minor issue but it really bothered me that they took a staple of the series away. That just nailed the coffin shut for me regarding this shit entry in the franchise.

I knew there was something wrong with this game. So it's actually a direct sequel to RE2 than RE3 even though RE3's epilogue files directly reference the remaining STARS members heading for Europe. RE 2 really messes up the timeline. RE 1 and RE 3 make perfect sense on their own and RE 3 also ties the loose ends from the second but then we get Code Veronica and we're back to the story of the second game and it never recovered afterwards. RE 2 is the best selling game of the series but it's also the one that messes up the timeline of the first game and Capcom keeps going back to RE 2. It took them forever to get back to the aftermath of the RE 3 ending after Code Veronica and they managed to screw it up as well.
