The toxicity nowadays especially surrounding CoD is just awful. It's a wonderful breath of fresh air to hear someone with an honest opinion about their experience. I think there's a lot more to appreciate than meets the eye with games like these, and it's nice to see a channel pointing some of that stuff out.

finally, someone that doesnt instantly shit on CoD WW2 just because. as someone who has played CoD religiously since CoD4, CoD WW2 is legitimately the last game in the series ive enjoyed since blops2. anyone that grew up with MW1-BO2 era cod seriously needs to give its multiplayer a second chance, its likely the last taste of classic CoD we'll ever have. im almost MP1000 on WW2, and thats coming from someone who wouldnt even hit 10th prestige on most CoDs. absolutely underrated game

@@emilyjones212 sledgehammer really turned WW2 around with the giant division rework they did, which is still crazy to me. i dont think any other cod has ever gotten such a drastic rework post launch that really improved the game to that degree.

I grabbed WW2 months and months ago when it was one of the free PS Plus games. And finally gave it a try yesterday, really enjoying it! It’s making me want to try some of the others I’ve slept on.

"Go into a game expecting to like it, then figure out what's not for you." This is the best mindset to have. If the theme and setting of the game interest you, go for it and try to have fun. That's what games are for, a distraction from real life and an opportunity for you to live out experiences you'd otherwise not have a chance to do. Even simulation games, they can be as accurate as real life as possible but it's a game so you can take things to the extreme with zero risk. If you find yourself not having fun, analyze what you've been doing and what design choices the studio(s) made in order for your play style to not be enjoyable. If you were to change your playstyle, is it more enjoyable? Did the game seem to cater to a specific type of player? A little example I'll give is my experience trying out the Metal Gear franchise for the first time in January this year. I started by watching someone play the first MGS, thought that it looked pretty rad. Got my hands on a dual-pack of MGS2&3 for 360, and played them blind but optimistic to escape for a bit. I was hesitant about the controls and thought they'd be outdated and make playing a drag, but after a little bit of playing it felt second-nature. A game developed in 2001 with controls so incredibly different from the modern standard ended up feeling great. Now I'm all caught up except for the most recent release MGSV. Going into games expecting the worse will end up giving you a bad experience.

I wish I had done that for elden ring now, I think it's a little too late, I played myself and my worst fears that I had created became true. Been trying this past couple of weeks but that passion and enjoyment will never come, I just can't pretend to care for the game because I was afraid I would not like it. In the end it was a self fullfiling prophecy

I have beaten it too, and it was way too easy, nowhere near as unplayable as WaW and CoD4 Veterans, in those games Veteran was actually a Veteran difficulty level. In Vanguard tho, Veteran is just normal without hit markers.

11:19 nothing compared to wolfenstein 2 and the constrictor harness. I can suspend my disbelief and accept something like a vent as a possibility but can not wrap my head around zipping through a triple size (but very narrow) pipe like a snake. Also the dive bombing segment was practically impossible.

I don't know what it was with Vanguard but I just HATED it, and I don't normally follow popular opinions with the CoD Series. I buy it every year JUST FOR the Campaign, I loved CoD Infinite Warfare (actually my favourite in recent years/Gens, I can go back between thinking MW 2019 beat it after it came out but I still prefer IW a little bit more I think, best Campaign since Blops 2 imo? 🤷‍♂️) but for whatever reason I COULDN'T finish Vanguard... I kept dieing in that mission after crawling under the Barbed Wire and being in front of that Mountain (can't remember anything about the game, mission names/locations, character I was playing as etc.) and I deleted that shit off my PS5 and sold it without finishing the Campaign 😅 Got Modern Warfare 2 2022 Pre-Ordered on PS5 and pretty excited (also was only $79 instead of the RRP of $109.95 here) with the CoD Endowment "DLC" included (which is usually like $10/$15 or something?) so I'm laughing, might actually hold onto it this time and play the Multiplayer with "Tha Boiz" for once 🤣

Hey reccollect, as someone who has played all main console CODs since COD 4, i have to overwhelmingly disagree with your personal opinion on Sledgehammer sound design. In my own opinion, nothing in Vanguard sounds unique, which causes the mix to become very very muddy. Each weapon reload recycles the exact same sounds, which all sound to be at too low of a resolution. The amount of unique firing sounds is very small, and similar to AW and WWII, the explosions all sound the same no matter what causes it. The mix is somewhat improved when played on a 5.1 surround sound system, but it still doesn't cut it the same way as Infinity Ward managed to accomplish with Modern Warfare 2019. In my own opinion, MW2019 has the best and most real sound design and mixing. now for something more personal, i do feel that while WAW's sound designs may not be 100% real in some areas, that could have been a tech limitation. with that, i feel Treyarch used creative liberty to craft sounds that are very unique and can guide the player. Vanguard definitely does not. Anyway, love your videos, this is a good video, i just wanted to share! Thanks!

I would like to state i did this blind (no news or hate videos were watched beforehand) and i go into every cod hoping i got my moneys worth during my campaign binge. just did this on veteran, this was ass. only worse ones are black ops 4 (obviously) and black ops 3. Its a one man army fest. Guys remember when one woman single handedly beat back the germans in stallingrad? i sure do! Not like it was 2 weeks of the most brutal conflict ever. Also had massive rendering issues on pc. On the first arthur mission i would get shot and killed in the cutscene regrouping at the windmill, had to restart. Also remember how the germans couldnt even get enough men to supply their front lines even before hitler died? this game sure didnt. Project Pheonix is never even expalined, who cares what 4 idiot nazis are gonna do if they get away? there is no more reich. just watch the angry joe review, game is straight sh*t (from someone who beat every main cod on veteran as well).

i would also like to point out the attack on Stalingrad was not a surprise and the germans fought for weeks to claim every metre of ground. Writers did not care. I thought cold war was a step down from MW and this was 2 steps down from cold war. I also think i have a much clearer mind/opinion than you since im still in my campaign binge while you werent at the time u made this. I pray MW2 is better (i actually have high hopes, mw1 rocked). and no, look at any other review, there was obviously no effort. @@alastor8091 both I’d say. Yes vr doesn’t look as good but your whole vision is literally the game so of course you are immersed. I feel more immersed in modern cods than past cods in terms of campaign due to the graphics. Even though a game like WaW has a better campaign and story than vanguard, I still have more fun and prefer vanguard overall due to the graphics, it gives it an edge for me. I love both games tho.
