Just finished 20 sessions. This video is excellent and the comments by all concerned, particularly the patients, will give people a very clear idea of the process.

Im 58. I'm at day 13 of 25 radiation and chemo. Then surgery to follow. Diagnosed with rectal cancer. Just before Easter. Picked it up in poo test. Stage 3. N zero. So not into Nodes. Colonoscopy showed it clearly. Apparently I'd had it a year. Absolutely no symptoms until the day before my test results were given to me. I was low on risk factor. Masters Sprint Athlete so fit. Training is about 8 hours high intensity per week. Spronts and weights. Probably in my best shape of the last 10years. Never smoked. Drink only 6 to 8 beers a year. Good diet no excesses. My blood tests still show nothing abnormal. Im using my visualisation skills to help beat it. So seeing the radiation kill the cancer. While I'm under going treatment. Also every time I do a poo. I see me shiting the cancer out. I know I'll beat it. Because I don't see it any other way. Cancer does and can pick anyone. So far the worst thing is I can't pass wind with confidence. Because I can't tell if it's a volcanic poo. So to speak. My appologoies that it sounds so awful. I hope my experience helps someone else. Stay strong mentally. It's beatable so fight hard.

@@jorgel4415 thanks Jorge. I had a good result thus far. The cancer hammered..I passed small pieces out. Was only scar tissue. The surgery was cancel and I was on the watch and wait list. However a scope was done 3 weeks ago. I still have a bit 5mm x 4mm. Surgery is booked for Jan 30th. Hopefully all good then. Good luck with yours.

@4:24 I bought a urinal and used it in my car after my treatments (I still use it when I need to). Lots of pee has to empty because they want your bladder full. I just parked my car in abandoned places away from everyone, used my urinal like many truckers do and drove straight to a nice restaurant for my reward. The next day, ugh, work. Never missed a day either.😊

Very very useful thanks I have an appointment in about a month for my tattoo and then a few days later the radiation. I am 69 a Londoner and a heavy smoker so could not go down the surgery route. I was scheduled a week ago to have brachytherapy but on the day my blood pressure was very high and despite the Dr trying to get my BP down it would not so they had to scrub the procedure. I think it was anxiety as my Bo has come down now . This was very instructive the NHS are amazing

Update, Finished my sessions. It gets better, when the radioactive poo finishes. Keep the skin care up in the radiation area. It gives you like a really bad sunburn. Then your poo burns like molten hot pine cones lol. My cancer shrunk 50%, some of it I passed. It looked like raw chicken, set a new record for pain as it separated, plus some blood. But I got some out on 5 occasions. Surgery on 19/9/22 all good.

Update, long story. I passed the cancer literally pooed it out. 19/9/22 surgery was cancelled. However it came back. Had my ass removed 30/01/23. Permanent stoma bag. (Bag pipes) lol. I thought it was the end of the world at first. It's not. A bit tricky swimming. But that's about it. Can't fart at will or hold it in. Bag makes an interesting fart sound. I still sprint 100m to 400m. Also weight sessions no problem. Still alive which is good. Last check up says I'm all clear. All the best to anyone going through it.

1st what does the doctor think or prefer? If he doesn’t have a strong opinion. I’d recommend the radiation. I was looking at this because someone is paranoid about radiation and I wanted to see if this looked different than what I had for leukemia 15ish years ago but it seems same The radio therapy (radiation) sounds scary but the treatments are short, and painless. Also for you if it doesn’t work you can have the surgery later if it doesn’t work or you show progress. I’d want to try to postpone or put off a surgery.

@@meallmighty4ever I personally would prefer the radiation, having had it. It probably takes longer but no long hospital day followed by all the pain and still coming back. For radiation, the 1st appointment was the longest I don't totally recall length, but i think it was like maybe 30 minutes? I know it wasn't that long or I'd remember, and it was just because they had to draw the lines and mark me so they know where to focus the beam, then every treatment for the time. I'd go in and they'd like lazer pointer or shine light on me like long boring x-ray, and it would be then like 15 minutes or half the time of that because they mark your spot with something, so they don't have to measure your ass or however they would find the spot every time. The changing to whatever and waiting for doctor or nurse would be longest. I don't know if or how often you'd need to get some scan or something occasionally to show progress to doctor to show how well things are going; but sounds like he's saying surgery. Only reason I'd go for surgery is if there's there would be a recovery level that is a lot higher and if it was higher there would also be no chance in hell that you'd have to cut or do something again.. So I'd say radiation

I drink 16 ounces of water one hour before treatment. I arrive at my treatment center a half hour later. About fifteen minutes later, I pee off enough “off the top” to be able to make it through the procedure. I practiced this for a week before I started officially.

No, at least not in my case, I had radiation therapy in 2007, Still able to get erection, perform the motions feel just like having an orgasm but there is no ejaculate/semen. When I told the nurse that in my first follow-up appointment she said "well at least no mess, OMG did I say that? Lol. Anyway my wife was alright with that we already had 5 children. and we were both in our 70/80's. She passed away in 2011, I will be 88 in 3 weeks and can still perform, just a dry run though.
