Don't understand why more people don't watch these, they're my favourite, I've found quite a few gems through your recommendations!

I’m not sure why, but the way she talks makes me nervous. Her voice trembles a lot, and she speaks a bit fast with little pauses. Because I struggle with anxiety, I can’t watch her videos for too long. :/ tbh, she sounds anxious to me.

@@whatevers9055 I see what you mean, it's a bit of a vocal fry in the voice that can be grating I suppose, but I promise it's worth it on a low anxiety day - or you can always check out the video description and look up the titles yourself, might still find stuff that way!

I don't just like these because they are fun to watch but I always learn something from your critique of the book, so I hope you continue filming them because I've watched them all.

I just finished Our Share of Night by Mariana Enriquez and it’s so long I didn’t expect to go through it so fast! It’s so rich yet well paced! I had to buy the original Spanish version too and see how it goes

We DO have a nice fun chill time together. Happy day. High praise for "All This Could Be Different", but I don't know if such a book (based on your description) will be my cup of tea. "House of Rust" sounds like a story I would tell my kids if I ever had kids. "Bad Cree" sounds like it would make a very compelling film if the right director did it. A couple of these filmed back-to-back, you say? Looking forward to the rest of the catch-up.

Hello Shaelin! I am a big fan of these videos, they're some of my favorite on your channel and i get so many book recommendations from you. What is the ideal time to take to finish a book, if you want to become better at writing? and after finishing that book would you advise if I reread it to analyze it closely right after I finish it?
@ShaelinWrites Жыл бұрын
I think that really depends on a person's reading speed! I do think it's good to aim to finish most books within two weeks, because longer and you draw out the reading experience and lose immersion with the story and start to miss a lot of the book's intended effect. As for reading a book over closely, I don't think it's necessary and certainly not for every book you read, but re-reading closely is a great exercise for texts that you feel are really masterful and you want to study closely.

@@ShaelinWrites Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me, I appreciate it greatly. Okay then I am good, I can do two weeks, but I am spending many hours reading right now, I feel so overwhelmed especially since I am trying to better both my English writing and my native language. Thanks for the advice, I will only reread and analyze those works I enjoy most, I do not want to imitate anyone just trying to find my voice, so I do hope I learn writing from these authors. If you ever create an online workshop [Because im not from the American continent] I would so pay for it, I would love your feedback on ideas/writings/etc. one day that is! haha Thank you so much Shaelin, hope everything is well with you and you are enjoying writing!

Hi there. Could you explain how to survive during the AI times as a wannabe writer?
@ShaelinWrites Жыл бұрын
At this point I'd say, just keep writing your work and don't stress about it. Stressing about the possibilities of what other people could do with AI will just be a detriment to your process and ultimately an AI cannot create what *you* can create as an individual, so no matter what it's capable of, your voice still matters.

Thank you, Shaelin. I really appreciate your heartwarming advice.
