It seems like you have always recently read something that is then on the Booker International list Marc! I didn’t think the Kurkov sounded like it was for me, I just DNFed Laurent Mauvignier’s The Birthday Party at 400 pages as it turned into a formulaic thriller with simply a different way of telling it. I can’t remember if you read that one and I know I have a minority opinion.
