As soon as I opened KZbin and saw this video, I quickly clicked. I am curious about pre-Martial Law commercials or t.v shows or ads. Grabe pala ang fascination ko with all things Philippine Lost Media kahit 2024 na

Considering how there wasn't a reliable way to record television footage outside of Kinescope, early live broadcasts are rendered _permanently_ lost unless the broadcasters here did an _I Love Lucy_ style taping on film before having it transmitted via telecine.

Lucille Ball did pioneer how live tv can be preserved for decades unlike the older American black and white shows that couldn't be used after. She took a gamble and it paid off

Philippines movie/tv companies seems to have no skill or interest whatsoever in preserving movies, tv shows and news broadcasts in the Philippines. Kahit yung mga nagawa noong 1970s baka wala na. 😢😢😢
@blakegriplingph6 ай бұрын
It had more to do with the cost of recording media and lack of foresight to preserve them for future generations than anything. Heck, the motion picture industry in the States back in the early 20th century treated films as mere commodities and in some cases disposed of them to get the silver back from the reels; it wasn't until much later that it dawned on them to preserve as much of Hollywood's early history as possible.

To think that ABS-CBN actually moved its frequency from 3 (and 9) to 2 (and 4) just three years before the Martial Law, which I thought before that Channel 3 would be closed down in 1972.

Well, Ang iba Kasi ay Kalat Kalat sa mga archives ng mga stations worldwide na nakasagap ng signal natin. Dati Kasi kahit advertisements, nairerecord nila ito at nailalagay sa archives. Di natin alam, baka Ang Malaysia,Indonesia at Taiwan na may malapit na frequencies sa atin may have unintentionally recorded some of the lost videos na pinasira during martial law ni marcos
@ntsbs1506 ай бұрын
@@maritesbuster8209 Malaysia and Indonesia uses PAL while we use NTSC, so obviously by this standpoint those two countries won't receive our signals overseas. Taiwan also uses NTSC but fat chances anyone there cares about DX.

Hope you'll accept this critique constructively. The narrator needs more practice on his speaking skills. You're reading and speaking way too fast that you're like chewing them already. Plus please study correct pronunciation of words specially Proper names. Or you could have just AI recorded it since it's all in English anyway. The info is very much appreciated but the voice over is kind of distracting.
