Good idea. I have just been using the green dots for years. After the battery is used I just peel off the green dot. If you use a slightly larger dot, you can put the date that you charged the bat. on the dot.

I just put _rubber bands_ around my _charged batteries._ That way I can reach in my bag and grab out a charged battery without even looking. 👊

Great solutions! I have both a Sony DSLR and Handicam, and they use internal and external batteries respectively. I have tried the silicon band trick, but the bands always get misplaced.

Very cool, sir! Thank you! Just be careful, those webcam covers come from Corona, California! ;D Haha. Edit: Just got 21 of those covers for $9.43. :D I think I'll go the even cheaper, more frugal way, of using white paper under 1/2 of it. White has charge, black is dead. :D I guess the more frugal way is to put it in a compartment for dead and charged batteries, but I haven't been doing that for some reason.

Some webcam covers come with an indicator to show when it's open. You could forego the sticker dots if you use those, unless the stickers are what provides the friction to prevent it from sliding back and forth too easily. Good ideas in this video, though. As a side note, I number my batteries so I can cycle through them and not overuse one more than the others. I just reach for the next number up when a change is needed. No issues so far with this approach, so long as I make sure they're all charged before the shoot.

I have a very simple and foolproof method: I have numbers on my batteries. If 3 is coming out of my camera that means 1 and 2 are depleted (as well as 3) and 4 and above are full.. so on.. I used to put batteries in different pockets or bags but with the numbers system it's just that simple. Whatever number is coming out, just grab the next number. Also, this makes sure all the batteries are getting used.

What I've done for the proprietary batteries is use masking tape to number them. That allows me to rotate them, and I know the next one in sequence is charged. (I have four batteries.) For my double As, if they're wrapped in a rubber band, they're ready to rock and roll, but if they're loose in the ziplock snack bag, (four per bag) they need to spend a night in the charger.
