About there being "no competiton..." for us swimmers, winning is often not the point. There are plenty of times where you'll go to a competition not even expecting to get third. It's usually just about giving the performance of your life and beating your personal best score. Sometimes it's just "beat that team, do better than them." There are very few times where I walk away from a competition feeling upset because I didn't get first place, and I know that many of the girls who compete in this sport even at higher levels feel the same way.

Not sure where you get your stats from. China, Japan, Spain, Canada might get on top. USA for sure not. They can barely hold top10 in any ethic competition.

Actually i beg to differ, there is hope in many countrys, like the USA, Canada, and China. it is just simply the work ethic that the russians have. Believe me they are amazing, but i have my money on USA in the future, we will come back.out on top.
