Please tell me whether you have grinded the roasted ingredients with water or powdered .In Kerala there is a difference between arakkarathu and podikkarathu.I used to make only Kavathu koottu as kerala tradition but my mother in law will make this dish only.

Thiruvathirai kulambhu is a typical Tirunelveli side dish. We don't use Dhania at all for this . We use only ellu, arising, red chilly, little toor dhal, and coconut , grind it coarsely and add it to the kulambu. Add little coconut oil and curry leaves. No cooked dhal is also added

As per my mother's recipe, we won't add paruppu. Only coconut. But the coconut to be roasted till it gets light brown along with Masala. Try once and if you like it you can show one day also. We tell this as thalakam. Kali thalakam combination would be yummy. In this thalakam you will find only in trivandrum side.
