Recipe: How to make easy Johnny Cakes | CWF | 2023

Hi everyone!
Here is my recipe video for johnny cake! Many of you know that this is the good stuff back home on Sint Maarten/the Caribbean! I hope I can help some of you guys to make it in the comfort of your own home, especially those living abroad.
Here's what you will need:
1kg flour
1 tsp salt
4-8 Tbsps sugar
2 Tbsp baking powder
4 Tbsps melted butter
200 ml milk
260 ml water
Extra flour for frying
Of course Johnny Cake goes well with a good filling.

What's the difference between Johhny cake and bakes?

No idea. I think it's the same. People just give it different names

Bakes is what Jamaican call it other island folks call it johnny cakes.thats it jus the name.they also call fried dumplings.

In the Bahamas we call it Johnny cake, but instead of fry it's bake.

Johnny cakes don't have cornmeal where I'm from. That would be festivals...not Johnny cakes

These are bake they don't have the hole in the middle so they are not Johnny cake FYi

On Sint Maarten we call these Johnny cakes😊.. hole or no hole, same thing.

This is NOT a Johnny Cake Recipe. This is just a sweet pancake. Johnny Cakes are Corn Meal based, not Flour based.
