This is absolutely moving. I have a special respect for a singer who has managed to preserve this beautiful tone for an entire carrier in opera. I can only think of her and of Joan Sutherland. This made my day madam, please keep spoiling us with your art.

L'hirondelle est fatiguée, mais elle a néanmoins conservé son bon ramage. Après de longues années d'une magnifique carrière, on ne peut que saluer l'exploit, avec ses faiblesses de justesse, et les dégâts du temps. Une grande dame.

Elle a su conserver sa voix grâce à une hygiène vocale irréprochable même si forcément la voix est un organe qui vieilli avec le temps...Elle n'a peut être plus la souplesse et les aigus d'autre fois mais peu de chanteuses se produisent encore à un âge comme le sien...

This one piece is the "Villanelle" by Eva Dell'Acqua (1856-1930), whose name is remembered for this only, I'm afraid... This is one of those works every coloratura soprano comes across sooner or later ! Gruberova recorded it brilliantly with orchestra in the 80s.
