Why do they call God's love wreckless?
@alyssamartinez17252 жыл бұрын
I could totally see why you'd ask this question because i too found it so confusing when this song first came out a couple years ago. it almost made me uncomfortable. but one day i was watching a church service and they began singing this song and Holy Spirit spoke to me so clearly and clarified it so much for me! when i heard the lyrics: "there’s no shadow you won’t light up, mountain you won’t climb up coming after me. there’s no wall you won’t kick down, lie you won’t tear down coming after me," there was like a lightbulb that went off in my mind! God’s love is reckless because love that entails sacrifice is seemingly reckless(careless, thoughtless, chaotic) to the world because the world’s love is non-sacrificial; it requires no laying down of your life for another. that kind of love is selfish. it shows no genuine heart for another. God has done and will do anything and everything for us in order for us to come under His wings of refuge. He cares for us. He delights in us. the world doesn't love like that so when they see a Man like Jesus being brutally beaten for the sake of buying back our freedom, they would call that sort of love reckless.

@@alyssamartinez1725 Perfect explanation and just how the original writer described his reasoning for calling it Reckless Love! I remember watching him at a church conference a few years ago. This question was put to him
