Yes, good video Dean, and a nice usable little table at the end. Think all us 'bodgers' and 'make it up as you go along' woodworkers would be happy with it

Love this project, Woodwork Journey! 🛠 The reclaimed wood looks so unique, and it's impressive how you made it work with minimal tools. The folding table idea is so clever-thanks for the inspiration!"

Love your honesty. You inspire me to continue with woodwork after a fibro diagnosis.

Thank you. Honestly it’s tough sometimes but the joy of making stuff really helps me mentally, and keeps me active when sometimes I let the Fibro win for a few days.

Dean, great video. I've been meaning to do something similar. Steve Ramsey (WWFMM) in the US has a video on the exact build process. Great instructions on how to. BTW, I just noticed that we share the same medical conditions, including AS. I totally understand & feel your pain & resting periods. This is no joke & something I don't wish upon anyone. Unfortunately, my left shoulder/neck bones are fusing together. Extremely limited on motion, both looking left & right or up & down. Not something I expected to deal with in my 40s, but gotta roll with the punches sometimes. Hope you have more, better days than bad. Take care of yourself. This is something no one understands until they face it themselves. Tony - 🇺🇸 California

Steve Ramsey’s channel is excellent, a real shame he does less WW content these days. Sorry to hear about your ailments as well, we just have to keep on keeping on, I constantly say the illness doesn’t define you, it’s how you deal with it that does

It really wasn’t hard, just time consuming and needing elbow grease. I like tools but KZbin tends to forget we didn’t have the whizzy machinery 100 years ago - that being said, I’ll probably use my cheap thicknesser next time 😂

Great build, I'm an American builder so worx tools aren't rated high but in fairness for the money there a great deal. But nice shop project, turned out nice. I'm going to try it for my basement shop .

Hi Dean, hope your well, Good little fold away table, great workshop project and nothing wrong bodging it or winging it, it works, my problem is measure once and cut twice and it's still too short. As always a great video, catch you soon all the best Merry Christmas

Great video Dean. I've been laid up for the past week with a bad fibro flair up. This weather not helping me at all. Love the table, I need to one similar for the side of my sofa when I'm like this, it would be much easier to get to my bits and bobs then. Merry Christmas have a good one and stay mobile.
@WoodworkJourney

I was absolutely going to make a side table that came over the sofa for exactly that reason! I got a far as sketching some ideas (think I put them on an Instagram post), but then found one for a tenner on marketplace so got that instead lol I definitely want to make more stuff in 2025 though so as long as I can still move on at least some of the days of the week, I may get around to it lol Merry Christmas and stay strong

Wish I understood your slang because I could probably use some of it myself. A bodger? Good job, nice looking table. Listen I wasted an 8' piece of 6/4" of maple this week trying to make one of my daughters' Christmas present because I was winging it. I should know better. Glad to see your project come together so well.
@WoodworkJourney
@WoodworkJourney 4 күн бұрын
Bodging is generally making something work with what you have to hand rather than doing the job properly, so I bodge a lot of stuff 😂 Guessing stuff and winging it is way more enjoyable than planning IMO 😂

@@WoodworkJourney Being a pedant, a bodger is originally a chair-maker who makes country furniture using traditional green-woodworking techniques but as you rightly say, now includes anything knocked up by hand from what is available.

In my workshop clamps are considered less expensive than 3D printers 🤣 Not a criticism of the use of a 3D printer, I think they're a great bit of kit for lots of things, just found the comment funny. Looked like a fun project!

LOL I get what you mean, in my defence I did make the brackets from wood first lol I like projects where I learn stuff, in an ideal world I’d make more of the same thing to get good at it

I like it, I think it turned out well. I approve the 3D printed parts... I've 3D printed a bunch of better/nicer (well I think so) knobs and bits 'n' pieces to replace the awkward ones on my shiny new R255TBLX - so thank you for your videos about that saw too.

Nicely done Dean. I had a groan of self righteous indignation when the inevitable 3D printing arrived as its such a waste of unrecyclable resources, but thats just me. That drill guide geegaw looks it was designed by someone who has never used a drill. I wonder how many tons of landfill are generated by people browsing and printing this rubbish
@WoodworkJourney
@WoodworkJourney 2 күн бұрын
LOL Thanks Richard. Annoyingly the same things are all over Amazon etc etc, and I can’t see how they’d help drill straight regardless of what they’re made of. In positive news though I’ll be recycling my failed prints etc though, so it won’t go straight to a landfill. Don’t forget though, while PLA does need higher temps, it is recyclable as opposed to things like plastic bottles and other plastics so that’s better than nothin’ 😊
