Now that's straight 40 mins watching😂. I must say, it's been a while since I got hook watching a whole 40 minutes woodworking video. This is why we love woodworking. The tooooooolllls, the challenge, the humor and creativity are impeccable. "He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist." ~ Saint Francis of Assisi

Nice! You are one of the last woodworker KZbinrs that still make woodworking videos. Most now attempt to show how they're renovating the large new homes and/or second homes purchased with KZbin fame money. Kudos!

I don't care, where the inspiration and first iterations of the design came from. The cabinet, as shown in the video, is a stunning peace of craftmanship. And that is, what counts for me. Keep on challenging yourself and have fun doing so. Greetings from Germany.

I really appreciate that you're still trying to learn and grow as a woodworker, even as you teach us. Also, I'm a little bit surprised that the brass didn't scratch just from saying (or even thinking) the word "point".

I’ve been an artist for a long time and just picked up wood working two months ago. I’m inspired by your process but a little intimidated by the cost of all the fancy gear. Started filming my second project yesterday. I’ll get it edited and posted before too long. Hopefully I can achieve some sweet sponsorship money one day and have half of what you have. L Kudos to you. Great build man.

I’ve watched a large percentage of your projects and I feel like I could produce a similar quality build if I really set my mind to it. For the first time, I feel completely out of your league. I have all the same tools, plus more, so it’s not a matter of missing equipment. Your creativity in engineering unique ways to make all of the intricate high precision joinery blew me away. The execution was flawless. I had incredible respect for your talent already, but this takes it up many notches. Have a great holiday season and I can’t wait to see what you show us in 2025.

I follow a lot of woodworkers, and all designs are good but you don't create furniture you create art. I mean, I m from India and in my hometown woodworking is a huge thing. And with walnut. But it's all the same pieces. I consider myself lucky to see this. Thank you. Really.

The final design really sings… well done! I’m curious how much the AI really helped tho. Given the complexity of your prompt, it seems like you already had a good idea of what you were looking for. Did the AI help mostly with visualization or did it jumpstart creating the digital design?
@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking
@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking 4 күн бұрын
Great question! I think it helped with both, especially the visualization...I had an idea in my head of what I wanted, but sometimes I have a very hard time articulating that idea to a visual image that I can work from.

After listening to you and Jason on the podcast, I expected the video to be filled with KJ angst. Not so much. In any case - cool build and highlighted the Shaper Origin nicely.

The one mirror catastrophe that I shared on the podcast was the only thing that went really askew. It was quite uncharacteristic for me 😂

Amazing project! Makes me want to play with bending more. I have a question for you, Keith, what is the contraption on your Harvey dust collector? Looks like it could be very useful!
@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking
@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking 3 күн бұрын
You should definitely give bending a try! It opens up so many possibilites. And that dual air intake fitting is made by ClearVue, but I don't think they make it anymore.

Great build, but I have a question. I noticed you have the PCS and the CSC SYS 50. What made you decide to go with both? And what situations do you go to the SYS 50 over the PCS? Thanks!
@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking
@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking 4 күн бұрын
Thanks! I use the CSC for installs/on-site work and smaller delicate cuts because it’s extremely accurate and has a super thin kerf blade.

As someone who can’t draw but is very detailed and precise in writing, I can develop very good prompts for ai and follow up prompts to dig away at what i want so i think leveraging ai for design is perfectly valid and still results in an original work.
