anyone else in the Diocese of Madison in WI? Part of the plan for their next big initiative is to have increased access and opportunities for Latin Masses in areas that don't have them yet. The demand for TLMs is definitely growing!

We don't know the details yet. Into the Deep is the Madison Diocese, Bishop Hying is the Bishop. We would like if he'd leave the parishes that currently offer TLM can continue to be those same churches.

I discovered the traditional mass here in Berlin in the church St. Afra, Institut Philip Neri, a Community of Papal Right. Founded with Benedict XVI. I was actively searching for it after attending the new mass a several times and noticed how poor that one is. Keep going!

Traditionis custodes made me a Latin Mass advocate. The Mass of the Ages, the Latin Mass Trilogy is an excellent and necessary primer for those interested in learning about the Traditional Latin Mass contrasted against the NO innovations. Watch it then do your own due diligence. God bless you.

Good point. Latin Mass would’ve been a passing thought since there are many NO masses closer to me. But traditionis custodes got me very curious about a lot of things as an inquirer.

@@bobjenkins3rd After a year I’m still grappling with TC. I still go to both the NO and the TLM Mass. I am just a Catholic Christian not a warring trad but I do prefer the TLM. If Latin vs vernacular was the only issue about implementing a new order Mass I don’t understand why more vernacular couldn’t have been added to the TLM. It seems like there was some other agenda involved. Anyway when I go to the NO I receive the Eucharist mostly on my tongue and only from the consecrated hands of the priest and usually standing up unless a kneeler is provided. At the Latin Mass the first pew is reserved so we can kneel and receive the Eucharist on the tongue. If you haven’t gone to a TLM the liturgical music and singing is far superior to the generally awful NO music. But there are so many more things about the TLM. Good luck sorting this out.
@bobjenkins3rd Жыл бұрын
@@Spiritof76Catholic Much appreciated! Yeah I'll be visiting the closest TLM parish (also offers NO), NO, and a Byzantine Catholic one. I've only watched live streams of those types of services. I'm sure something will work out well for me and my family and I'm not too in to the polemics around it as if there are winners and losers. But there are certainly serious problems. My two cents and I know basically nothing, but it might be worthwhile to merge the NO with Anglican Ordinariate in some fashion and of course encourage the TLM as well. It's very telling to me how nearly all of the popular Catholic figures attend Byzantine, Tridentine, or Anglican Ordinariate services including people who only say good things about the NO.

Great motive - show the TLM for what it really is in a way that the most ppl possible will love it and it will grow! At the end of the day, that only goes so far. Ppl will see and refuse to see as they are willing, and that has to be ok lest we be tempted to make compromises in order to make "the sale". And that is unacceptable. In the case of both marketing and branding.

I totally agree with Timothy about anger. As a Catholic therapist I try to help my clients understand when anger is rational vs. Irrational and the proper actions to take when one's anger is rational and also the proper actions to take when one's anger is irrational.

There's no doubt that the Latin Mass is beautiful. I keep hearing everyone talking about the LM as beautiful and that's why they drive long distances to attend. Are we missing the real point though? Are we focusing on the superficial when we should be focusing on the LM as a correction to the treachery of V2? Are we failing to truly address the real problem? There's a strong case that the Church is captured and in need of rescue. We dance around the real meat of the problems because we don't want to inflame Rome. We need to understand that there's a high likelihood that the Pope will eventually drop the hammer and absolutely outlaw TLM everywhere. What then?
@bobjenkins3rd Жыл бұрын
I think it’s a well calculated move. Firstly, this approach is easily received by your average Catholic. It allows the movement to grow while minimizing resistance and preventing the scenario you describe. Lastly, I don’t think the beauty of the Latin Mass is a superficial claim at all. Equating theology with liturgy is probably the best thing to emphasize because this is a fundamental issue that has been ignored by many. Once people see that, it almost forces the question, what happened and why?

That's so great that you want to train more priests. I attend an Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest Oratory and they have trained some or our diocesan priests on how to celebrate the Latin Mass.

There is not a preponderance of “negative and angry” perception of TLM among faithful Catholics. Only a tiny percent of Catholics have TLM on their radar. As trads, this is hard to imagine, but it’s true. The Latin Mass is simply not something that occupies the thoughts of most Catholics. Most just want to go to their local church, educate their kids in the faith, and worship God. Not more complicated than that.

I beg to differ. Go to your average parish approach a Baby Boomer and ask them about their opinion about the TLM. See how that goes.

Timothy Gordon is not the person to ask about this matter, since he is no champion of Tradition. He has emphasized how "beautiful" the texts of Vatican II are. He is afraid to enter Tradition fully because he doesn't want to risk his family's salvation (!), by his own admission. He has not realized the extent of the apostasy in the Church, and what to do about it, even if he denounces the actions of the pope from time to time.

Well I reject anything in Vatican II that goes against the tradition of the church. And I accept anything in Vatican II that adheres to the tradition of the church. And I don't go to it simply because I prefer the Latin Mass. I do to it because I believe that it is the tradition of the church that it is the mass of the ages. And because I believe that the traditional Latin mass is important in teaching the traditional faith. So it's more than just about the mass I just don't understand how people don't get it

Can we please focus on people being kind and good to each other as well as keeping the other parts of the Faith. Seems like people are becoming human doings rather than human beings. As in... We do this , we don't do that... Trying to do the externals but neglecting the heart. Jesus Christ said that people would know we were his followers by our love for one another. And what is that morbid ungodly image on the poster that looks like a skull. Eew.

Vatican II was, in fact, an Ecumenical Council.No-one can argue that it was not. It really did occur! It was convoked by Pope John XXIII (of unhappy memory) based upon what he described as a "Notion." The Council was, by its own definition, only a "Pastoral" Council. It defined no Dogmas. Nothing coming out of it is in any way binding. It demanded no changes, to the Liturgy or anything else. But what it did do, unfortunately, was to slyly give its "permission" to change anything and everything! The Post-Conciliar commissions needed only to declare that what they were doing was "certainly necessary," and in line with the "Spirit of the Council," and they were "off to the races!" As far as I am able, I repudiate not just the parts that are 'Proxima Hæresei,' but the entirety of the 'Robber Council' and all of the wickedness that has been committed in its name! Rosárium meum gládius meus est!

No "nee groups" may be aimed at where I am blessed to attend mass. At Canons Regular of the New Jerusalem. A small (but growing!) Order of Augustianian monks. After attending there since after the llockdowns ended, even the local unicorn N.O. parish seems like a Protestant church. An indicator of how "old school" Catholic these monks are, there use NO microphones for their services. Too Legit!!
