I 100% disagree "the mode gets better once you build your base" no it doesn't At that point 1. you know all the stages so farming them is boring. Once you don't need resources to build your base there is nothing interesting on the map 2. The enemy waves that show up at your base aren't a threat and just waste 5 minutes walking around (never fight golems in base it takes 40 years) 3. The quests take so long to do that unless you follow a guide you will complete all the gameplay elements way before the story ends and you will be left just opening and closing stages trying to progress the story. TLDR once you get past the early game there is no gameplay left, just grind

I fought the golem in base once. I didn't bring any frds nor Surtr so and my base is a whole ass maze that takes the whole map. It took me 20 mins to clear it iirc

Silvergun is right; at some point, everything is predictable, and parts of the gamemode become redundant and unnecessary. As much as the mechanics relate to each other, they don't build/inform onto each other, coordinate enough. I largely avoid farming and combat, but all that leaves is farming, but there's nothing necessary to build As much as I have been enjoying playing the mode as a merge between FTL-StarCraft-OGBroserTD, but certainlyhuge early learning curve combined with the sloggy tech tree and progression makes the whole experience more of a chore and does not give a good first impression to most people.

It's also has other leeway to play this mode. 1. No need to farming resource if you have enough upgrade, you can use start resources with buying some from Black Market to build almost construct. 2. Try to fight Army at farming stage, it also can place construct at these stage. This Mode is still a Beta, so it's can adjust many thing when release as permanent mode. But most critical problem of this mode is LAGGING!

I feel like it has the ability to be good but misses a bunch of stuff. Like obviously its mechanics are obtuse as hell, but aside from that, I do think difficulty systems like IS3 that greatly impact the run and force you to change strategies would help mix things up Furthermore, the constructs in your base needs to get nerfed. It feels like IS2's temporary life, but the game balances stages around you having 10 of them (so you're screwed if you only just started) but you get up to 20 of them. Also, unlike IS where you can borrow support operators or randomly get free operators you may not own, this game mode has none of that. So if you don't have the right operators (ie. Texalter and Yatoalter), good luck. If you do have the right operators though, you practically don't need a base and can just ignore the core mechanic. Personally, I defeated all the bosses outside of my base (stalled the boss using Specter and Eunectes and Monst3r. May require more than 1 try but you can spend more than 1 try) Also the things that block enemies but don't change their paths are broken af. They're wayyyyyy too tanky

At least in lobotomy they throw you directly into the chaos of management to learn by your mistakes and retry the same day as much as you need to. In this event you need to watch a long ass tutorial that doesn't teach you really anything and it plays for you, I'm a toddler, LET ME BE PART OF THE TUTORIAL OR ELSE I WON'T CARE. I hate this game mode so much because the rewards are decent, but playing that thing is anything but fun in the long term.

People would say the same thing about Lob Corp and skip to LoR. And Lob Corp is unlike anything. People may think that whoever plays it is masochist but there is beauty in this (chaos) game. I've also seen many rant on Monster Hunter because people would hunt down first 2 or 3 monsters and already get bored. Something like oh, so you just do the same thing over and over, no thanks. And MH is anything but boring. People have no idea how complex it gets (not really, just vs surface level). It takes skill to play with most weapons, monsters are fun to fight and there is shit ton of them but people would judge the whole game after fighting one kfc chicken. Btw i'm not leading this anywhere haha. Like it or not RA game mode is experimental, far from perfect and it came with MH collab, so if you not feeling it just skip and play collab event. It's whole idea still is pretty creative and i personally enjoy it. But at the same time DrSilvergun has a point, i just have all this time to sit through it. It took me maybe 2 runs to consistently get to day 14,16 and to fully understand it. It sure takes some time to play it at first but after every run it takes less and less. And it made me for the first time in all these years build slow supporters. This mode is huge advertisement for slow\bind units. Wish i had Suzu. 70% of all i do in Arknights is just spam ground units to win , mindless unga, so it's fun to try out Angelina for the first time + Manticore gets special treatment here. Yoinked x shaped base from one youtuber and it works perfectly.

The IS could be pretty RNG but for me it was really fun to play. Reclamation Algorithm is not funny at all. It is just grinding for grinding and to get desintigrated by pack of golems/mudrock colossus in the end. No ballance, no support units (im playing this game like half a year how am i supposed to hunt/defend super strong waves with no texalter/mlynar), no gameplay. U just watch your Silverash hit trees for hours that's it

1. You can't borrow support units from your friends like Mlynar, Poz, Chen Alter, etc. 2. Your don't have starting structures for your base, so your center will really get ****ed over by the first few waves 3. The game mode is not optimized well for phones as the stage can range over 50-160ish enemies at the same time which can make it frustratingly laggy 4. Elite enemies are unfairly placed and tend to surround your resources in resource gathering (especially the golems) 5. Animals run too fast away from your units after getting attacked I know this mode is still in development, but they really need to make a better impression and optimization for this game mode the next time it would release

6. You can't pick up and put base structures else where. You gotta demolish them, farm the materials again, remake them, and THEN put them down again. At least give us a refund man. 7. Got the base raid with the crystal beasts? You're fucked unless you have Surtr and her harem of Medics. 8. Final Boss on normal runs can 2hko a E2 Level 90 Saria in his second form. How the hell are beginners supposed to beat this mode when veterans with rosters of maxed units still die to it? 9. Buying from the Black Market is a goddamn chore. You gotta click the guy, wait for his ability to hit full SP, then go through a series of useless dialogues. Just give us a goddamn menu ffs. 10. Should have removed the fog of war on areas in stages you've already seen and deployed in for future runs. Nobody wants to make a mental map of these frustrating as hell stages.

@@yufeng1707 eh, there's a bug that makes ranged units on firm platform takes 0 damage against those crystal golems and you're a veteran with maxed units right? Just use Hoshi or Nian to tank ed boss, not Saria. She's only useful when you use her S3 in this mode

Cute Gummy. The comparison to Lobotomy Corporation is very apt. Both confuse “learning how to play better” with just “learning how to play, at all.” Obfuscating optimization can make a game fun longer; stretching out your ability to interact with any of the game’s core systems is merely tedious.

I fucking love lobotomy corp, it's a super special and unique game in my heart. And it's because, even if an abnormality wrecks your face, you can almost always restart the day/memory repository. The process of understanding is super satisfying. There is a time when you can get screwed on repository day, but fortunately it didn't happened to me.

atleast with LobCorp you can make an argument that it's another element of it's masterful story. repetition exacerbates the how fucked up LobCorp's goal is, and makes you question if so much suffering is even worth it when you're not even sure how it'll turn out in the end. Having to restart the day for the 30th time in a row because the Queen of Hatred decided to have a Gamer moment yet again fucking sucks and I hate it fuck that bitch but powering through, and finally getting to Day 50 and listening to the final speech is an experience that very few games can replicate Game still gets very boring and repetitive, to its detriment a lot of the time, but atleast it tries to incorporate that into the story and themes to make it a bit better RA is just boring and repetitive with nothing to really show for it

@@yesno1085 the base is permanant tho. Most enemies wont attack your structure unless it's covering their direct path to the base so you can just slowly build a maze funnel into your ifrit tile

I think you answered your own question as to why it isn't permanent. It's a test run where the devs themselves are just seeing how the game mode will go and how they will balance it. The same thing happen with IS and SSS to a lesser extent.

if you're not planning to use meta, you would have to use brain, and more resources like the blockade , nets, jet tower and support equipments, but tbh it would be a pretty shit experience , they should've let us make some constructs that helps in dealing with the bosses at the end, cause whats the point of surviving 12 days when your base is already set, while i float with 100+ woods, 150+ stone, and 60+ iron for no reason and there's like nothing more i can build.

theres many guides not using meta's.. you just need max lvl/mastery/module'ed operators, any would do, just need enough love.. and strategy (also, building/support/cooking item is very very powerful, you can re-route enemies, powerful buffs for your operators etc.)

especially when you just want to move around the construction. It just heavily punishes you for no reason, If you just somehow misplaced some blocks, there's no other option except to destroy it, farm the material, and lastly build it again.

I had the most fun building my base and barely scraping through raids while woefully unprepared. Perhaps if they had made it a mode with longer 'runs' but much faster base building overall so that you can reasonably clear at least 3/4ths of it without meta upgrades it would actually be enjoyable. As it stands though you farm a bit then run away from raids before they kick your teeth in, or maybe intercept them if you get a good map. The base carrying over between runs is really the central pillar of bad mistakes in this mode, because it means the 'base' has to be a huge open empty field and all people make is a big spiral to delay enemies and some traps around. Should have been a large, semi-random generated map per run with some natural obstacles to build around and use to your advantage. Oh and 3:45 I can tell you exactly what went 'wrong'. Arknights is a gacha. For Annihilation and SSS it's a bit less of an issue (as these are more 'one and done' with no random elements(GOD I WISH I DIDN'T HAVE TO RERUN SSS)), but both IS and RA suffer greatly from the fact that the only units you can be near certain every player will have are 3* and welfare ops. 4*s at a stretch but that comes after a decent amount of time invested into the game. A lot of IS and RA feels like they don't keep this in mind at all and balance vaguely around the 5-6* range for operators being the expected units for an 'average ability' player to bring (4* only GODS aside). IS3 has been out for months and I still can't handle some of those stages with how absurdly tanky the mode's unique enemies are. I have honestly no clue how I'm going to beat the RA bosses either. Both of these rougelike designs would work better as standalone games. Fusing 'gacha' with 'tower defense' was already a pretty out there choice all things considered and Arknights has a very precarious balance because of it. Adding in a third dimension of genre and it all goes to shit more often than not.

Getting started aside I feel that the mode would benefit from being a permanent mode like SS or IS it feels like so much work and so much investment for something so short and so absolutely pointless, the reward pool isn't even that large you can easily clear it so you dont have any reason whatsoever to touch the event in only a couple hours once you get everything set up as of which by the time you do you're already nearly half way done the fucken thing.

I know the game mode, want your to slowly build your base and stuff, but its just grinding resources over and over again, ill still keep grinding the points to get all the rewards, but its just not fun. this and SSS is just on par with the tedious level and boringness of gameplay. literally the first event that i prob not bother getting medals

I tried a single run, couldn't figure out how to extract water, tried to hold off a wave advancing on my base, and realized I was so astronomically fucked it wasn't even funny. I gave up at that point, earlier than I like to, but I just couldn't see myself enjoying it, the more I read, the less I wanted too; I have better shit to do. At least with IS, I get to see my units interacting with the items I get to make each run feel either unique or simply empowering. Here, I'm punished for not maxing the level of my units, when resource wise outside this mode; that's optimal. I just can't fathom what went so wrong with the design!? It's far to experimental to push onto live service; poor tutorial, laggy, information obscuring and lacking any understanding of what makes resource gathering games fun IMO.

Hot take learning the mechanics was the fun part, then when you finish your base there's nothing to do and it becomes a bore. It would be better if the base wasn't permanent and make the raids less front loaded and repetitive, with better rewards for defeating them and combat zones, and remove the stamina limit on low level ops cuz its just make weak accounts weaker for no reason

I was so exited for this mode. "Build your own maze, craft your own map!" I mean how cool is that? pretty awesome imo. Then i found out how tedious it is and oh boy do those exitement be dying at a lightning speed. At least let me re-map my maze without having to farm for everything again ffs HG

​@@kaypeeoh2781I though I'm gonna get the ending, but then it turned out that the Lord Ameer has a 2nd phase 😂😂😂😂 Bro just killed my Thorns easy peasy, and went past Eunectes at the verry begining. I don't have the Balans nor the Balans 2.0 (Poziomka) so yeah. It was fun, but I'm not gonna grind it just for medals. I'm like 1 run from getting all the rewards. I must be a pathetic słów learner, if I still haven't gotten the ending.

I'm just gonna say: As a veteran the first 1/2 hours on the gamemode is like playing a souls like for the first time and dying at least 30 times on the first enemy you encounter. You know nothing, so you basically go headfirst into a wall every single stage you face. You don't know how many enemies and where they are, you dont know the path they're going take usually. Once you get the hang of it you can just steamroll everything to get the rewards and dip once your base is set up. But that's only if you have meta units built up. Every single boss in this gamemode is incredibly spongy. So much that using a super meta squad the final boss of day 11/12 takes minimum 4 stages of trying before killing him (without taking note of the 189 FREAKING enemies that are also tanky af). No man's land is more forgiving because there is less cannon fodder thrown at you and mainly you focus on the boss at hand. The only enjoyment i found with this event was having 10 net launchers so the boss was basically permanently binded and finding the combination of operators and skill cycles to not leak a single enemy during Raids and boss Raid. In the end every complete run gives you 1500 event points, so theoretically in 4 complete runs you get everything, but that takes time and learning experience to do (+meta). I can 100 percent agree that people who don't have time, are not exactly quick to learn stuff or dont have the patience, but more so beginner players get completely F*CKED over. That said, I give this gamemode a 7/10. I prefer this over SSS just because it feels less tedious (i don't mind the grind of the materials and building constructs/cooking provisions, versus replaying the same stage with the same setup over on SSS). And probably because i'm a bit of a masochist. Good video Supah. TL:DR Skill issue

I can't figure out IS or SSS either. They all feel too grindy for me to devote time into playing. Normal content is where we can beat a stage once, and then can farm it to get rewards from a shop. Forcing players to manually play the game more is just a way they're trying to inflate their "play time" numbers.

Really, if this gamemode comes back again, they'll probably set it over Ursus or Gaul or Kazdel because those three places is somewhat similar to the environment that Sargon showcases, they're perilous to live in.

One of my biggest pet peeves in Arknights is the in-game tutorial. When I click/tap on a dialogue, it immediately goes to the next one without filling the previous one first and just told you to "Hey put your operators here and here". Sometimes I don't blame people that gets confused whenever there's new enemy or modes.

I can imagine this mode being virtually unplayable, if I didn't have Texas and Yato. Definitely much more annoying than fun. But as I have both of them, I actually had plenty of fun. Also, the story is really well written. Doctor acts like a naturally born mercenary.

My biggest issue with it is the base. It is the best thing about the mode, the ability to make your own stage. But it is plagued by the awfully slow start, no refund of construct and no additional save slots for multiple bases. Once I built, my base that got me to an ending; that was it. I got my rewards, all medals, all upgrades and now I'm left wondering why I should go back. I found the strategy that worked for me and I have no desire to go back and try something new. Because it means starting from 0. And with how slow it all is, it takes too long and I got mats to farm for future ops. I really do like the mode. The concept is great but the execution is sadly not great. I did find it more fun as my base took shape. But again the fact I can't rebuild my base without farming the resources all over again has put me off from trying a different layout. If this is a seasonal mode; its biggest issues aren't unfixable. Maybe RA2 will be better. Treat this is a beta or demo to something better down the line.

You forgot something: x2 drops your fps and makes you feel like playing minecraft with "god's camera angle", but if you don't put x2 up, you'll beat the boss at the rate of losing your lifespan due to the absurdity long wait time at the start and chipping the boss hp down bit by bit

The number of times I've tried deploying an operator, only for the lag to mess up my selection and pan the camera of to the bottom right of the map where none of the action is happening, is too dam high. The size of the map along with all of the particle effects from constructs, the deployed operators and the mini annihilation number of enemies all spawning at once is too much for the game to handle. Phone, tablet even PC can't handle it smoothly...

As someone who liked the mode I gotta agree a lot was seriously fumbled with this. There's no reason why the mode should have a true Fog of War mechanic. It should have just worked like Near Light requiring ops to create sight for your other operators to engage with situations that you can actually view and plan around. Sight also shouldn't be based on range. You telling me Saria is now so near sighted that she can't relay information that she can't physically grab with her hand? The walls are way too expensive to make and honestly should only cost between 2 to 3 wood or stone per block. Not also costing water...which I might add is the ONLY resource you cannot start with. So you can't even just quit spam to mess with the base building mode. You have to farm at least one stage to engage with the main fun gimmick of the mode. Good luck hunting any of the food animals without Texas the Omertosa by the way. You thought you could just drop Red on this pig? Think again. This pig is stronger than an armored zombie supersoldier soldier and will two shot her with ease. Very cool for them to also not let you take a Support Operator into this mode with a bunch of situations that might require highly specialized operators to deal with. Fuck the weather effects by the way. Pointless frustrating inclusion. Despite all this, just the idea on its own is really fun. I managed to enjoy it but I also know I have a higher tolerance for stupid bullshit than I should. Building your own stage essentially is a cool idea. I hope they don't abandon that aspect of this mode but I wouldn't shed a single tear if they tossed the rest of it into an incinerator. Also quirky twink bunny 5* when?

As someone who played RA with all different endings, I feel like the problem is actually something else. For example, your main problem with RA already exists in IS. If you don't know the pattern of a certain IS stage, for example, the 4 bosses in 1 stage, you can easily fail and have to restart all over. Meanwhile in RA, once you experience all stages, have some of the most important buildings, know all the patterns and know which type of resource you should be prioritizing as well as know which operators are most efficient per type of stage, things gets so much easier. You don't get troubled by too many RNG in this mode that it becomes way easier even with just a few reruns. So when I said the problem is something else, I'm referring to eliminating the whole RNG problem. You can easily get so strong by buying food materials and cooking some of the best food early into the run that it just trivializes the whole mode. More so if you have prepared materials to craft some of the best types of buildings you can deploy on important resource stages and hard boss fights. I do understand the whole sentiment of this video though.

I feel like in IS it's justified because roguelikes are, at the very least, simple in concept and somewhat fair when you lose due to lack of info. In RA when you lose it feels unfair because you were purposefully denied information for arbitrary reasons. In IS it doesn't feel unfair, it feels like doing any other stage for the first time. In IS you aren't purposefully hidden any information, so when you lose because you didn't know something it's not as frustrating, I think

For example, the Sarkaz girl stage, not only you'd know she would set up a trap but also you wouldn't know which operator are the most effective at fighting that absurd stage. Even story stages are like this, some bosses have movement patterns you can take advantage of which you wouldn't know unless you experienced the stage itself. Not knowing the boss pattern simply wasted your time and now you have to rerun. Arknights has always been popular for its trial and errors. Isn't it also why Executors are quite the band-aid for this specific problem aka blind runs?

Almost every roguelike puts an emphasis in getting used to enemy patterns and using knowledge of previous runs to perform better. Learning how IS maps work is no different from learning enemy patterns in Isaac or Hades. The difference in RA is that as you get better at it and get the upgrades that trivialize the mode, the mode gets more trivial and dull while IS at least spices things up with randomness (maybe a bit too much) and you are allowed to spice it up yourself.

​@@LisaraScarletThe two examples you brought up seems poor imo. Starting with IS (I did not experience 1 so my view is on 2 and 3). Sarkaz girl encounter, or any other special encounter for that matter, have the opt out button if you are not confident. I feel like that's fair enough on that part. However, there are certainly some combat encounters that feel unfair, one that comes to mind is the puppet midboss in IS2. Story stages are a different thing. You get 30 drill plans per day that you can use to test the waters without needing to spend sanity. It's not unfair when they already gave you the option to try the stage. Even Chapters 9 to 12 have "story mode" where you can play the level with 0 sanity at the cost of not getting the main rewards. RA is way more unfair than those two. The fog of war mechanics is completely unnecessary and adds confusion for first time players. Tutorial man deliberately muddies the information with flair text for no reason. There are a lot more mechanics to keep in mind like crafting base and making food etc, whereas the other modes are basic Arknights with some twists. Having to work with so little information when you need to work around so many things is unfair.

The thing with enemies really makes me angry. Like, whats the problem of just telling me which goddamn enemies the stage Im going to do next have? Even in normal modes like just story stages they hide the enemies until you fail because of them. Like, fuck how I remember not having/ liking to use ranged units when I started playing because lmao medium defense vs little crossbow girl then the stage is like "yea, heres a single drone at the end of the stage, go fuck yourself", thank god I had Lappland as my savior back then.

EXACTLY. You can definitely have fun with this mode once you understand how it works, but understanding how it works takes way too much time, so I'm too intimidated to even play it. All previous modes were relatively simple to understand and learn, but with this one, it just requires way too much time to just learn the basic. I did 1 run and then didn't touch it for a week, because I always felt like I don't have time to properly sit down and try to figure out everything, so I can start having fun.

The wasting information bit applies to all levels unfortunately. The enemy info is hidden for some reason until you play a stage, the enemy waves are not shown in advance like in Kingdom rush, not giving you a good chance to prepare. In IS, the stages are way too brutal until you learned all of them. They can have a million enemies already on the map, and if you didn't prepare a specific strategy, you could lose the entire run. The only thing in IS you could prepare for is the next boss, but the stages themselves are insane

Honestly, I just did the skip everything without placing operators until your base get attack and retreat over and over again until I got the skin and I don't plan to go back anymore. IS3 is really fun and I enjoyed farming it but whatever this is I really hope we don't get more of it or at the very least get some simplified version in the future. This is like if IS3 required you to complete the entire upgrade tree for it to start to feel fun.

The idea of collecting resources and building a base is cool, the interface of looks pretty neat. I can say this mode is overall kinda rich I like this kind of game but I HATE to play this kind of game, especially in Arknights. It's like you like to watch others play it than playing it yourself, but Arknights is not the kind of game that is fun to watch. So, I tried so hard to enjoy this and man..., It sucks. I like Arknights for the way it is, placing units, timing skills bam! bam! bam! You win! The harder it get the more satisfying beating it. And it's following the same step. Main Story, Event, Anni, CC, IS, SSS, TN until RA shows up. I'll say it, if Arknights is not for everyone because it's hard and confusing, and if RA is like a beta test of Enfield just like the rumors Who the f**k is gonna enjoy Enfield?

quite good gamemode... For late game doctors... Like I have about 11 2e operators and the way I have to fight against a real wave of enemies... And the was a really my best shot when I passed first raid with 21% of my base... It took me 4-5 runs to understand that BASE SAVE IT STRUCTERS BETWEEN RUNS! None of information was gave said that... So my first runs were only to understand what the hell I suppose to do about raids and yet YOU MUST GRIND FOR BASE UPGRADE... And yes it is interesting but only if you are able to get recources in normal conditions... so it means that you must have quite special combo gor each biome, enemy raid and even for farming recources...pretty cool idea broken by one thing..... You don't have normal options for structures like a block to change enemies way and points for range type unites, You Must Farm MONOLITS FOR ROCK WHICH HAVE SO MANY HP THAT SKADY AND GLADIA BOTH E2 FARM 1 ROCK FOR 40 sec without any distrations! So my advise... First 2-3 runs just farm points to research starting recources like food and rocks, It will really help you, next get ready to farm and farm until first raid, If you'll survive just leave or wait until day 8 for best push but I don't think you won't get second raid to you earlier. There are multiple ways to survive raids, like you can make a pushing corridor or a labirinth to get ready and fight against only light or heavy enemies ( usually heavy one are much slower so the maze with right way will let you to fight first fast and quite weak targets and hurt heavy ones before they'll reach your last defence)

This mod is blatantly designed to spam texalter and kirito and as someone who had really important finals to study and had to skip over thier banners ,i'm stuck with soggy noodle damge or goodluck trying to hit sheeps without texalter ,all i'm saying is pls give a chance to get a support unit ,and let the sheep stay in it's fucking place and not sprint to other side of the map like a redditor avoiding shower ,AND FOR GOOD SAKE BUNNY MAN STAY IN THE BLACK MARKET

Any of these additional modes are just so frustrating for a player with below-average skills like me. This one feels even more grindy than any of the ones previous to it like IS. It should be permanent with no FOMO unfairly forcing people to grind it. I played a few stages and got really bored and upset it's time-limited. Horrible oversight, and terrible implementation. They could easily change some aspects of the game mode and actually make it interesting and fun.

It give me the same feeling of playing don't starve together for the first time where you don't know what the hack your doing and die to random creatures or hound waves. So I will be looking forward to what hg gonna do with this game mode.

F this mode. Garbage tutorial, over complicated mechanics that could make for a game of their own and pointless endless grind thats no fun. Maps dont show so you have no idea what stage you are entering and how to prepare for it. I dont mind spending hours on figuring out how to beat a map. I DO mind spending that time trying to figure out how to play the damn thing! Arknights is a game of consistency a tactics. This involves neither and is the exact opposite.

Honestly, I just used the "spam resource nodes and quit" strategy to get 50-60 points per run until I got 1500 for the Pallas skin (I don't even have Pallas). I don't have the mental capacity to understand this game mode and I don't even care enough to learn it tbh.

Honestly, I really love the trying to build my base, scout the bosses, then take them down 1 run at a time that I had to do in this mode. It felt like a monhun raid, but more unfair. That said, yeah, there's a lot of "oh I wish I knew about that" moments that I had. It's also really long, a full run would take like 2 hours each. Fun gamemode idea, just very tedious and unfair.

Honestly, this should be perma-mode (or almost perma-mode) like IS, so that we can get back to it at our leisure during downtime days, when there are no events. That way, you dont feel forced to farm the reward ladder in 4 weeks. And they can even add new node now and then. PS: yes the tutorial is a joke

Funny enough, it took me until I have 1000 POINTS ON MY EVENT POINT TO MAKE ME REALIZE I CAN TAP ON MY BASE AND BUILD MY BASE FROM THERE. HG basicly makes me baffle about how clueless I can be when I only have to watched a gimmick one time to understand the event and here I am, SITTING IN MY CHAIR, TAPPING DEPLOY AND RETREAT FOR 20 MINUTES TIMES 20, AND ONLY THEN I REALIZE YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE YOUR BASE

You can clear this mode without ops and the use of a singular brain cell but you need to clear it 110 times on repeat. So yeah i agree with it being a time wasting game mode.

the mode needs to be longer, and the base reset each time. crafting recipes can carry over ig. make it like a holdout mode, the enemies get stronger, but so does your base. more enemies, invis reveal guy, wall breakers, drones, shit like that. im glad they didnt half bake a permanent gamemode again, but half baking temp ones are probably worse, cause they'll never put in effort to fix them

It's actually the worse mode, it doesn't help that sometimes half the enemies ignore the Urban blockers "Camoflague" and "Alters pathing" abilities. Like oh thanks I wish I knew ahead of time that sometimes enemies just see through camouflage and never change pathing no matter what.

Level 2 wall can be destroyed if the spider explode near them, ranged unit on level 2 platform can't be healed. And remember electric device from maria event that slow enemy and dealt arts damage? It can make a great defense but they make it as support tool not buliding tool so it's a one use and you can't place them on crafted platform.

This was one game mode where I was both completely lost going in and felt like I was just getting mugged, but once I understood what I was supposed to do still found the process extremely dull and annoying. I don’t even hate sss, as it’s not that time consuming, but this game mode is just tedious.

I think we can all agree on if they EVER bring this one time event back around, use first stage enemies for the first loop, or at least give players a selective difficulty modes like in IS so people can oh I don't know, CHOOSE IF THEY WANT TO GO AGAINST TANKY ENEMIES THAT DON'T SHOW UP UNTIL EX Event mode! You know, the great thing about optimisation in videogames is that it's something *completely optional* that *improves* your experience. It *ISN'T* something that should be considered “the bare minimum for playing” that outright punishes the player for not being 600% efficient since the very beginning. RA is so ridiculously easy to mess up, and extend your early game suffering to eternity if you don't know what you are doing (and I can certainly guarantee you that you *WON'T* know what you are doing till the very end). Misplacing resource collectors screws up an entire “act”, while slight mismanagement of resources instantly costs at least 30 irl minutes of grinding. The in-mode given methods of dealing with the threats are almost none-existent: Patriot mines are utter BS that should even be there as an option in first place, and the Net-throwers (the best tool this mode has to offer aside from Camouflage Walls & ranged platforms ) are so impotent that you need like 500 of them just to see some slight results. Intercepting waves is almost never worth it (even when your base isn't slug-proof) as it wastes entire 'act point' that could be better spent on farming, and there are waves that you just HAVE to intercept if you value your time. Don't even get me started on how “fun” is stopping 30 rushing dogs or 12 friggin bullies all at once in the first 5 seconds of the stage when you have barley 10 DP, and not even friggin 5 pot Flagpipe is salvaging that up.

What confused me the most is this is the only gamemode where you can't have support units. With how it's structured you would absolutely need Fast redeploys like Texalter and Yalter having support operators or temporary recruitment would be a whole lot better And how bases allow a whole lot of freedom but is absoluetly daunting for staring players having blueprints/ pre-planned bases that ypu onoy need to get the materials for itwould help players ease in to it as they can modify it as they go along or scrap the whole thing and start experimenting The FoW is a pain in the ass at least have it to where if you spent the whole duration there you can turn it off I also hate the absolute lack of explanation of the gamemode and would have definitely been for the better if they had a promotion video of explaning the gamemode

I guess the most stupid thing in this mode is that the visibility of operators. I mean, please explain to me why Eyjafjalla, whose vision is impaired by oripathy in her operator profile, has better square-of-sight than, say, every other melee unit that ain't in the Lord archetype? Not to mention, the problem of RA isn't with just the mode itself, but also the current schedule of EN/JP/KR servers. Who the hell think that having a Grinding Simulator with the name of Reclamation Algorhythm running concurrently with Monster Hunter, then Guiding Light rerun, and then Contingency Contract 12 (which has been officially announced to be released at the start of October) is totally a good idea?

I agree with SUPAH on the tutorial bit. Why is it so damn slow, and why did it need to be several stages long? I was already frustrated by the excessive dialogue in the first stage and I thought "well, it's just 1 stage", but then the game had to drag me to another tutorial with another round of blabbering yellow guy. And after that, another stage of blah blah blah. No backing out. The tutorial force using slow, shite tier ops was the cherry on top. Nothing like being made to wait for the mudrock golem to walk slowly in a circle, it's not like we've got other things to do fml. All that info could've been just plastered on some panels to read in a help button.

I play AK because I can just do some autos, build my operators and pick my time to do the difficult stuff like CC, hard stages and so on. What does HG do? Add new manual-only farming stages and events and to top it off add items (IS) or mechanics (SSS) that make you play different from the game you originally want to play. It kinda defeats the purpose of having a normal auto-farm for resources, when I then just have to grind other resources manually, except I'd most likely have more fun doing the same stages over and over without any RNG for the sake of RNG. Also, a lot of Operators are virtually unusable in those modes (unless you memorize them or use guides), as you need them to work in a variety of stages and cirumstances.

Heres my issues with it 1) its litterally worser and even more time consuming SSS 2) enemies are so stupidly unhinged that it makes no sense game throws every boss like enemy at you 3) early game is cancer and after it the game turns into a grind simulator 4) stupid system is so unnecessarily complex that it ruins every single fun imaginable arknights loves to add stupid features that "look cool" even tough people wont use them examples would be entirety of SSS 5) It has like no fun to it at all The game loop is litterally the same EVERY TIME and food mechanic sucks ass Yeah in the end there is no reason to even play the mode because of how much of a cancer it is

the mode's trash, idec enough to get to an actual ending, just got to the point where i can skip every day and auto the raids and even with that amount of laziness it's still a lot of boring busywork. HOWEVER, gotta say, that bunny twink can get it.

mudrock golems and crocs favored towards fast redeploy raids having the possibility of destroying your home that you built soo carefully with catapults, slug bumbs, dublin casters and etc some raids being sleep simulator and others being nightmare support items might as well not exist with how niche they are maps being horrible (im looking at you melee only maps) using constructs outside of your base is really bad beginning with no resource at the first run (it does not make sense to me that rhodes island doesn't know "yeah we need to be prepared for base building" common sense") not friendly with beginners deployment limit on a base raid (dude if your base is getting attacked it doesnt matter who you are or what you are i need you on the defense NOW!) weathers being trash 50% of the time top tier unit favored there are more but these what came to my mind. i love this mode but man it soo unoptimized.

Funny video but HARD disagree. There is nothing worse in this game than SSS nothing can truly encapsulate the tediousness of that. At least in this game mode I can grow by investing into the base thus making my runs easier and easier until it because laughably simple. SSS is repeating the same stages and having to sit through it just makes me want to die.

Im only playing this game mode only for the lore now, the only thing i hate about this gamemode is the fact that i was about to kill the boss, but the boss wave fused with a fucking golem wave.....god fkin dammit

"when you get your base built, your farms set up, learn the stages, you get the starting wood and starting stone upgrades, the mode gets quite good" ...no it doesn't, it just stops being as outrageously infuriating. loss of frustration =/= enjoyment

Honestly i would be done more playing the mode, if the main game stages were swipelable and not just auto repeatable 6 times. I don't really want to go about another chore after finishing a chore.

I played it, like, 10 times and then discovered the 'Spending acts by entering and leaving the resource node untill day 5' strat. Spent next lotta hours just pressing buttons instead of actual gameplay. It was worth it. Probably.

This is the very first game mode that i despise with my whole heart. You literally know nothing about the gamemode even after that extremely long, boring and annoying tutorial. I played several times blind and i hate it cuz its so complicated. But after seeing the actual tutorial on yt then i am a little bit understand. Then the game turn into mindless grind with boring boss battle. There are zero excitement and i dont even know there is a story. Its so frickin frustrating. But for the reward of module block and several high rarity material i must endure making 6000 medal. Hope they will never release this game mode again. I'd rather finishing max risk cc rather than repeat playing this game mode.

No for real cos I've been going in a loop where I think I just need to play better but the farming is a pain in the ass. I need wood to make the stuff that gathers wood to then gather more wood to make more constructs. It drives me crazy!!!
