Recognition of State of Palestine: Sophie Mokoena

Three European nations, Spain, Norway and Ireland have recognised Palestine as a state. Recently, the UN General Assembly also voted to grant Palestine more rights within the organisation, backing its request for full membership. In April, Palestine wrote to UN boss, Antonio Guterres, requesting full UN membership. The United States has used its veto to block the UN Security Council resolution.
At the same time, Israel's Foreign Ministry has ordered the immediate recall of ambassadors to Ireland and Norway.
