Upon Shultz' death many comic strips ran dedications to Peanuts. My favorite was Beetle Baily. The whole crew at Camp Swampy stood at attention, saluting as Snoopy flew over on his doghouse. I couldn't help but to tear up.

Being a young kid in the early 70s was made special by the Charlie Brown specials on TV. I remember searching the TV guide for all the Christmas specials and writing them down on a calendar. We were probably the first in our suburban Fort Worth neighborhood to have one of those "new-fangled" VCR's in the later mid 70s when I was 13. It was a Panasonic branded VHS. It had analog channel selection, and a lot of mechanical moving parts. It also cost over $1500 in 1977 dollars, might have been nearly $2000. The last VCR's could be bought at Kroger for around $50.

One of the T26E4s, from my knowledge, became known as the Super Pershing after being deployed in Europe where it cannibalized some 80mm steel plate from Panther tanks, and gained its famed shape, and was destroyed at Kassel. I always thought it was cool that Charles Schulz built a really nice ice skating rink in Santa Rosa in the 1960s and kept it open for decades even though it broke even at best. He didn't care about the money. He loved ice hockey and wanted someplace nearby where he could play in a league.

As a child of the 60s, I grew up with Peanuts. It was a wholesome strip that somehow let children enjoy their innocence while staying relevant to adult readers. He could be hip and topical while keeping everything child-friendly. He showed every comic strip creator after him how the genre should be done. I had about 20 Peanuts books I collected in my early teens and I gave them to my niece's children a few years ago and they just loved them. It's amazing the icons we grew up with that seem so much better than what kids have today.

As you might imagine, I adore Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang. Why? Because “they” are “us”! I use Lucy’s name because I was a psych nurse and a life coach before I retired. People are always asking for advise just like they do Lucy. But like Lucy, I am not a doctor. Don’t you know someone like each of the characters, including Snoopy? Charles Schultz was a gem and he greatly enriched our culture. Thank you for this great video!❤️👍🏻😁

Charlie Brown : "I can't help it, Lucy! I just can't face the Little Red-Haired Girl... Pretty faces make me nervous." Lucy van Pelt : "How come *my* face doesn't make you nervous? I've noticed you can talk to *me*! *I* have a pretty face! So how come you can talk to me? Wasn't I the Christmas Queen? You haven't answered!"

Maybe Lucy Van Pelt and all the other little girls (including the Little Red-Haired Girl) from the Peanuts Gang will be competing for the crown, sash, scepter, trophy, white-fur-trimmed red velvet royal robe at the annual Miss Christmas Queen USA Beauty Pageant on Christmas Day.

When I was growing up in the 80's Halloween Thanksgiving and Christmas wasn't complete until they showed those specials, the Christmas Special was the greatest of all specials for me.

I grew up on Charlie Brown. I loved the Halloween special the most but close second is the Christmas special. Now I watch it with my daughter. It seems to be something that will stick around for a while. Classic.

Guess what. JESUS was born in the SPRING, not AT CHRISTMAS. Those early christians were a cunning lot. They tacked on their belief in jesus to the pagan winter solstice celebrations not realizing that LAMBS ARE BORN IN THE SPRING AND THE CENSUS IS ALSO TAKEN IN THE SPRING. Got ya.

I think we've all been Charlie Brown at least once in our lives. We get knocked down but continue to get back up again. That's why the comic/cartoon still resonates today.

There are some absolutely laugh out loud story lines in the Peanuts gallery over the course of 5 decades. Snoopy being summoned to appear before the "Head Beagle" and running off without saying good-bye. Peppermint Patty wanting to skate in some figure-skating championship with Snoopy as her partner and then Charlie Brown's dad giving her a boy's haircut because he didn't know she was a girl. Linus trusting that the great pumpkin will appear in the most sincere pumpkin patch and always missing "him." It was just a great comic strip with a lot of memories and good clean fun and still quote them from time to time as well. Thanks very much for posting this video as well

Those lessons I learn are still with me to this day and have helped me many times in my life deal with different kinds of situations, thanks to Charles Schulz for your influence in helping me become a caring and understanding person like good old Charlie Brown

What I love most about Peanuts is that the kids have their own individual persinalities, but they always find ways to get aling. Each story was a life lesson that readers of any age could find value in, and the reader was never talked down to.
