4:27 - "Where's The Beef!!??" = marketing gold. Best fast food commercial ever.
@lindawolffkashmir2768
@lindawolffkashmir2768 3 жыл бұрын
“Where’s The Beef?” was actually one of a series of surrealistic ads they had running at the time, showing faults of other fast food places. “Park It!” centered on the fact that after your order, you had to pull over and wait for them to bring out your food. “Through The Mill.” represented fast food restaurants that had frozen patties produced through a mechanical process, and not fresh beef, then another was how other fast food restaurants had food that looked and tasted the same, no matter what you ordered, and was represented by a Russian fashion show where the model came out wearing the same outfit, just carrying a different accessory each time. Plenty others of these, too. Funny stuff.

Wendy's is very nostalgic for me and my favorite fast food restaurant:)!! I think Wendy's should be number 1 and not number 3!! And I so remember as a Child, seeing that Commercial, "Where's the Beef?" and I used to laugh every time:)!! Also, I used to collect stickers as a Child and I have a sticker of Clara Peller asking, "Where's the Beef?" in my sticker album, which I have saved:)!! My Late Dad really LOVED to eat Wendy's chilly and I so enjoyed Wendy's hamburgers, which I think tasted way better than the other fast food restaurants:)!! My Mom, my Brother, my Late Grandparents and I LOVED Wendy's Frosty:)!! Unfortunately I am now lactose intolerant, but it was a nice treat from the past:)!! Also, At the former Wendy's that is no longer in my neighborhood, had Salad Bars into the Late 1990s:)!! My Mom, my Late Dad, and I all LOVED to eat the Salad along with the pasta and garlic bread, all at Wendy's:)!! In addition to this, as a Child, Wendy's Table Tops had the antique Newspapers with antique sales adds from the turn of the Century:)!! As a Child, I so LOVE to read them:)!! And on a visit to Wendy's in 1995, I got a Happy Meal and I still have the Pink Rocking horse Toy that opens up with a Cabbage Patch girl rocking in a tiny rocking horse along with a dial which I can change the setting from day to night:)!!! Thank you so much for this really awesome history on Wendy's:)!! And God Bless Dave Thomas for helping with Adoptions:)!! He sounded like a real kind hearted person:)!!!

i remember the beef patties being rectangle shaped. The ends would overhang the edge of the bun , and they were great. Then Dave passed away and Wendy took over and immediately went into the new sheriff in town mode and the beef patties immediately got smaller and closer to the burgers that Wendy's used to mock in their commercials. Now the burgers usually meh 99% of the time...a mere OK at best if you somehow get a freshly cooked one, which usually only by accident. Not worth going out of your way for to be honest. Something is wrong when a burger joints chicken sandwiches are better quality wise than what is supposed to be the main attraction - the burgers . These days i rarely if ever go there . They lost focus after Dave passed way and it shows. I laugh when i see "quality is our recipe" , that could not be further from the truth.

My dad drove us around town, Ames, to get refamiliar where he grew up and we stopped at a Wendy's and had lunch. Best fast-food burger I had at that point, big and juicy. That's back when after the burgers were cooked they put them in a warm bath of water which they long ago stop doing because of sanitation requirements.

After moving to Japan, I noticed the absence of Wendy’s in Tokyo, but fortunately they made collaboration restaurants with Japanese chain First Kitchen, so that I can still enjoy a great Wendy’s burger. Let me add to the story. Dave Thomas grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. As a teenager he went to work at the Hobby House restaurant as a dishwasher. He soon worked his way up to kitchen manager. When Harlan Sanders came by trying to sell his KFC brand Thomas liked the idea and added KFC chicken to the Hobby House menu, becoming the first KFC franchise. At that time there was a drive in restaurant in Fort Wayne called Gardner's which featured a very popular "frosty" shake. The Gardner's frosty was the inspiration for the later Wendy's frosty.
