@@EmmetCromie Yeah I wasn't clear, I just meant more fractal visuals like this with Rez gameplay. I've played Rez Infinite in VR, very cool. I think the upcoming PSVR2 version of it might utilize eye tracking which is also cool.

Wow this is awesome! Julius I have a question, are you planning to ever release something like this but in 3D VR? I'd love to fly through these spaces and geometries with the full illusion of presence and immersion.

Yes, this is 3D VR - it's just that KZbin won't play it in 3D I think. Check a 3D version in a Quest headset here: www.oculus.com/experiences/media/511563164375070/ The entire album will be stereoscopic 3D.

​@@julius-horsthuis KZbin supports 3D VR uploads but actually viewing it in 3D can be tricky. The web version supports anaglyph and 2D, and I'm guessing the oculus app supports 3D. But PCVR is even more tricky. The now-defunct and still barely functional KZbin VR app for windows doesn't detect cubemap 360 videos, only equirectangular so it's not displayed properly. PotPlayer can detect multiple 360 layouts but doesn't really output VR. But if we download the video, we have more local player options like sView.

I remember being surprised by that a few years ago thanks to another one of his videos. This feature needs more advertisement. I don't know when this started but here's a youtube vr video from 6 years ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnTZlmStZqx5hdU Look for the vr180 or 360 labels under the video. If you are just watching on a computer you can click the circle on the upper left and control it with the keyboard cursor keys. And spacebar to re-watch or numbers 0-9 to go to a certain part of the video

I don't have a vr headset or anything but I've played vr games and they are definitely different. Sometimes they have vr gaming experiences where you have to pay or sometimes even for free at best buy. But it's fine if you don't care.

@@ericmollison2760 The fact is that I hate when I game is exclusively released in VR when not every player has a VR set or is interested on it. Look at Half-Life: Alyx, for example -- I saw some videos of it here on KZbin. The game is impressive? Yes, it is. But I would kill for the chance of playing HL: Alyx using a PC monitor instead of a blasted VR set. Oh! And let's not forget about those poor souls that suffer from motion sickness when using a VR set.

Well, since I just made something for VR- let me try to offer my perspective. When you create for VR - it's for VR. It's not for a regular screen. It doesn't look good on a flat screen, it's too slow, too blurry, whatever. Things that work in VR don't work on a screen and vice versa. I cater my content to the medium : fast visuals for small screens and much slower and intense for immersive projections. Half Life Alyx would be boring as hell on a normal computer. It wouldn't work.

I understand the frustration, but YT VR isn't stereoscopic, and it can't deliver the quality that we're going for. Therefor this needs to be a specific app - built for maximum immersion.

This looks great. Forgive my ignorance though if I'm getting this wrong. The trailer says it's in 8K, but the Quest 2 is 1832 x 1920 per eye. So it would not be able to be viewed in 8k?

The entire video is 8K. You're looking around with your Quest, so at any one time you're only seeing the resolution of the screen, but by moving your head you're seeing a lot more. That's why the resolution needs to be as high as can be.

No need to answer this, only if you want, can you imagine building a real time version, a version in which we can not only look around 360 degrees, but can also walk through this fractal. But most likely this all costs too much computing power, but perhaps a real-time version with fewer Details. Just a stupid question, pls never stop creating this Worlds

Yes! Very sorry, but it's been submitted to the Meta Quest store last week (still February) but we're unsure how long the evaluation process takes. I will definitely post a launch trailer and updates as soon as it's out! Thank you for your patience.

The physical universe has only finite complexity, while the fractal universe has infinite complexity. This means that the fractal world is infinitely larger than the universe we see. We see the physical universe as an infinitesimal fraction of the fractal universe.

I am not sure if this makes sense. Nothing in the fractal simulations is against the laws of physics so thus the physical universe can indeed equal this. Well I guess Collisions but the real universe I think could have a solution for that. Actully I don't know. Also, fractal simulations do not have quantum properties like the real universe. Also, I am sure you know this but the fractal maths is being computed in this universe lol.

I was able to watch the trailer you uploaded in the Oculus Video app. Maybe that's a work around from having to have it in the official Meta Storefront. There is also "App Lab" which still allows you to upload to Meta Store, just with less restrictions. Really excited to see the full album, as the trailer was stunning.

That happens to me but I can clear it up when I go into tools, then change 'auto' to 360 or more, and go back to my sharp screen.
