A bit of a correction for the review: I belive Amazon has 4K HDR on mobile. I mean i am using it for a few days. But Netflix is tricky. They kind of promised it already. Then they did an update in their app saying it's for high end phones, but it's nowhere near 4K. So still waiting.

It's the same as XZ2, i'm in love with my XZ Premium, but i have 3 issues. 1. I cannot find improvements for camera, like bokeh, selfie, etc, and I don't know how to install it. 2. When I compare with S8 camera, i have delay on focus, from macro to landscape. 3. No flash on front camera after update to Oreo. Any suggestions ? Thank you.

Dongkyu Lee Don't really know about the battery life. The reviews that I have watched said the battery life is pretty good as compared to old Sony phones. But one thing I can assure you that if you want to use a phone for years then Sony is the one for you. Performance wise it's the best, it will give you the same performance even after 3 years of usage. Software wise it's also one of the best as Sony always tends to update their phones to the latest software, your phone will get the latest security patches as soon as they're released and software longevity is also great, you'll be getting software updates even after 3-4 years. You can join Sony's Google+ communities, there you'll see Sony's awesome app support. Basically there's a community for each app and you can request for different features or give them new ideas. I saw many people requesting for new features and I actually saw Sony adding those features with new updates. Sony also provides some tech called Qnovo, which will extend your battery's life span. Basically after a year, every smartphones battery starts to show its age. Sony's battery will stay solid for at least 2 years. Since it's an IPS display, even with that 4K resolution, you'll never ever have to worry about those Burn-in issues. So yeah, this phone is really great for long run...

Usman Tariq Thanks for the detailed info! The XZp in fact is the first sony phone that piqued my interest so much that I want it so badly. My current phone is a Nexus 6p which still has great performance overall and softwarewise, it will get supported until Android O, yet the battery, which was incredibly good last year still with 6 hours of SOT degraded to 3hours of SOT with easier tasks..that was my initial worry about Sony here as well.

Can't speak for the XZ Premium, but the two Xperia devices I have (Xperia Z3, Xperia Z5 Compact) both have screen on time of 5 hours or more with a full day of heavy use, and the battery may have degraded, that's what should've happened over the past 2-3 years, but it hasn't been noticeable in daily usage whatsoever. Basing off of my experience so far, I'm confident the XZ Premium will have great battery that gives great battery life and stay healthy for a long time.

Johnny Pigman I see your point but o.i.s is always going to be better in lowlight scenarios. ive had 3 xperia phones until my S7 last year. I thought they were great especially the Z3 which is still the best design in my book but the camera was always a let down.

Just use slower shutter speeds, a lower resolution and keep your hands steady and you got the most detailed and noise free photo in low light. Ois is overhyped for no reason.
