Why did you mention Golf R instead of GTI? T_T no one will cross-shop these models. Golf R and Cupra are in Megane RS territority, GT is just a fast Megane with slightly stiffer suspenssion.

2 grand more than a focus st. That will never sell........ It's a renault megane lite. I'm sure it's a great drive but it's still not the full blown sport. So what's the point? Might as well buy a focus st, have more power more torque and ultimately it's not a half hashed hot hatch.

Chadwick 1991 Yeah it's priced way too closely to the Focus ST, which is an odd move on Renault's part. Not sure the ST has too much to worry about!

Chadwick 1991 By the way in our country it costs almost 10k € (!) less than focus ST taking official pricelist into consideration :) You can have it after some discount for way less than 20k €. Dont know what are the prices in UK but i am pretty sure i dont even want to know :) Gonna buy this with combi (Wagon?) chasis once i confirm its not too firm (as it lacks adaptive dumpers and even on this video it felt really bumpy :/ ).

Dalibor Stojanovic There are varying levels of hot-hatch, definitely, but the Golf R, Renaultsport 275 and BMW M135i are the benchmark so I'm guessing many would consider them unless they have a tight budget. Honestly, though, the GT 220 is more fun than a Golf GTI. Very different feel.
