Hey guys in this video we go over some of the books and guides that I recommend for foraging wild edibles and medicinal plants. There are thousands of books on this subject and today we talk a bit about some things you might want to keep in mind when looking for books on plants. Things like good detailed text of the plants and it's uses, up close or detailed photographs of the leaves flowers can all be useful. Some of these books talk about edible plants, others talk about medicinal plants, and some are just a good read covering a lot of different plants and herbs.
From the Peterson Field Guide to Edible and Medicinal Plants, to the Smithsonian handbook for herbs we talk a bit about each one and how they can help you in identifying or using wild plants for food or medicine. These are just a few of my recommended books and guides on wild edibles and medicinal plants.
I thank you guys for watching I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you learned something. If you want to learn more about edible or medicinal plants make sure to subscribe!

I bought many of these books after watching your reviews about them. These reviews are so very good and helpful. You do a great job reviewing them. I have one book about mushrooms of new york state, but I think I'm going to get one or maybe a couple for plants in my area as well. That's a very good bit of advice. Can never have enough books. Thank you so much for these reviews! They are so helpful!

It would probably run about $200 give or take, as this videos a few years old and some of these books might be on sale. You should be able to find them all on Amazon, or most of them anyways.

You're very welcome, I'm glad you appreciate it! I have not heard of that book yet, until now. So I'll try to get a copy to form an opinion on it as soon as I can. However I will say that if a book on the subject interests you it's probably worth it to check it out. I have learned something new from each one of the books in this video and that in itself is worth the price usually in my opinion. I'm sorry I couldn't be of much help on that particular book, I just don't like to give an opinion on something if I don't really know what it is. Thank you for asking though, and have a good day!
