The first herb book I bought was 10 Essential Herbs by Lalitha Thomas. It contains very basic herbs that most already have on hand. The recipes are simple, the ailment chart in the back is excellent, and the stories are fun and relatable. I have all the books you mentioned, but grab 10 Essential Herbs first or second, and Making Plant Medicine by Richo Cech. Every time I grab Rosemary's books I'm honestly a bit overwhelmed by all the ingredients in whatever recipe I'm looking at, so I end up returning to the other 2 favorites mentioned. I probably have about 30 herbal books and like them all for duff reasons. 😊 Definitely thankful for each one! I realize this is an older video, but I might do one of my own just to chat about why it's good to have a variety. Thanks for sharing! I definitely agree that we must have our favorite reference and how-to books on hands. Opinions and options on an internet search are a dime a dozen and you never know who you are learning from. I'd much rather learn from those I appreciate.

Thank you for your recommendations! It is very helpful that you focused on a subset of info about herbs. I didn't know where to start with herbal info. If you do end up with an AI written book, make sure to get your refund. We don't want them thinking that putting those books out there will make any money, we want them to see all the returns and refunds.

Herbalism can definitely be overwhelming at first! It can help a little to start with herbs that are already familiar, especially kitchen herbs like garlic or thyme. I agree about the AI books - if I accidentally bought one, I would definitely get a refund.

how can we really know if it was written by AI?

@@Aethelhadas The grammar and the syntax are wrong, and it is really repetitive.

I couldn't agree more with you when you said to not only explore one resource, but differents authors and opinions. Because as you said some books just offer and introduction and others go into more details. Herbal medicine has had a huge impact on my over all health. Thanks for sharing.

I agree - herbs are so complex, and so are people, so it makes sense that different herbalists would notice different aspects of the same herb. Thank you for watching!
