Nice. Not a factory museum perfect restoration that some would do. Getting it back to what it is, a useable fully functional tool.

Absolutely, it’s to be used not looked at! 😉

Vintage machines like these are such treasure to find. I love how it says “known the world over” on it. And EJ Edwards …London. It’s a real Gem. Quite functional as well! Thanks for sharing.

A beautiful piece of machinery ready for the next few decades. Why dont they build stuff to last nowadays? Thanks for recording it Gary, very enjoyable!

I invested in a manual fork lift last year that has been a wonderful investment in my barn/shop. It lifts 63" with an 1100lb capacity and moves around quite easy. One thing it does that is nice is with a small solid deck pallet I now have an easy adjustable height work bench. But things I used to struggle with using my engine hoist are now easy and safely done with this.

Definitely something on my wish list. For an adjustable height bench I use my motorcycle lift. It takes a fair weight and is easily manoeuvrable.

Gary, I live in a humid place. Tried everything for decades from WD 40 to paste wax (and many others), trying to get my machines to remain rust free. Finally found the stuff! It’s a product called ‘Fluid Film’. Smells like sheep dip, but one application, and no rust for years unless you eventually rub it all off by heavy use of the machine.

Thanks for the tip!

I'm a great believer in Fluid Film. I have a hand winch on my crane mounted on my trailer. The winch is always subject to the elements but it stays covered with Fluid Film. Not to mention that I spray the underneath of my Jeep.

Wow, what a great find Gary! I'd love to find an old roller and brake for my shop eventually. I'm glad you decided not to paint it and leave it as is, I like the look.

I enjoyed that video. Gonna need a bigger workshop soon! What thickness will this do, and can you curve a bit of steel rather than make it into a tube?
@garyhuston11 ай бұрын
Not sure what thickness it will do at full length but will do 3mm over a short distance with no problems. I need to experiment. Yes, it will curve rather than make a tube just don’t screw down the back roller.

Can a TIG freshen up the bottom roller to make it true again?
@garyhuston11 ай бұрын
I could do it with the MIG and just grind it off but it doesn't seem to be a problem so far.

Yt is sure pushing people to prime with ads every 1m 35s. will you lose revenue if viewers go to prime as ads won't be shown on your videos? Me I'm not going to prime since they blocked ad blockers. Its a principal thing now.still tune in to your channel though.
@garyhuston11 ай бұрын
I hate adds but a necessary evil!. I have no Idea if revenue will go down if people go to prime. I don't watch enough to justify the expense of prime myself!
