Reconsidering Spiritual Companionship - Part 1 - Listening or Hearing?

We know there are many different portals, and as many different entry points to encountering the mystery of life as there are beings in the world. With that said, are there common elements to the work of spiritual companionship that we can identify? And, when we name "deep listening" as one of these elements, the meaning of this can also be a bit fluid.
In Part One of a conversation from April 2023, SDI Executive Director Rev. SeiFu Singh-Molares and SDI Creative Director Matt Whitney consider, and reconsider, the role of deep listening and "hearing" (really hearing) someone, in the practice of spiritual direction and companionship.
