I have been a fan of snooker since the early seventies seen all the modern players and the great eighties and nineties players , but Ronnie is for me the best ever regardless of his problems and occasional tantrums, we will all miss him when he calls time on his career

I’ve watched a ton of live snooker over the past 25 years of my life. Quite simply, unless you have seen Ronnie live - you cannot appreciate his greatness. The way he caresses the snooker ball is incredible - it’s an Art & poetry in motion. The best - and that coming from Steve Hendry Fan growing up ! (My sporting hero).

At the end there the way he makes it about having his dad & children there to share it reveals his humanity & a little vulnerability too in a nice way. His emotional exchange with Judd & his tears shed in the studio in private with Jimmy & the team are very poignant. The pressure he puts himself under & the expectations of others to be perfection to play the perfect game must be huge. I think sometimes he passes unusual remarks & can be temperamental under the weight of pressure & frustration with having to perform interviews & press conferences in the heat of the moment. He is great he is unique. He doesn’t put himself up as the GOAT but in the top four or five. It’s not really fair to put sports people under the full media glare all the time. Particularly in the UK where some newspapers & publishers make their fortunes building up & then destroying people in public life. He’s fantastic to have endured for so long and still demands so much from his game Thanks for everything Ronnie. You’re a sporting hero for the ages 👍
