The Trick or Treats Studio chainsaw prop which is basically the same thing plus has sound and a moving blade is $80 and the standard 4K is about $25, which means you're paying an extra almost $200 for the VHS and box. I know us horror collectors are willing to double dip on stuff like this, but this is egregious. Sorry you had a bad experience, we all get FOMO man, it happens. Thanks for taking a bullet for everyone.

I can't stand gimmicky crap like this, and the price tag for it makes it that much worse. Would have much rather they put the VHS and 4k in a box just big enough to house them both with some nice artwork and call it a day. Does the chainsaw even make sound? I thought it was supposed to when you open it up? Again, gimmicky crap that's totally unnecessary, but that would be another example of how much they cheaped out on this thing.

$300 is absolutely way too much for that. I can see this set being massively discounted in a few months to a year. On the other hand it could go up in price. I remember buying the Resident Evil 7 collector’s edition for the PS4 back in January 2017. Nearly sold all the extras because I thought I’d spent too much on it. I decided not to, and looking it up now the complete set with box (always keep the box!) goes for quite a bit.

Texas Chainsaw is one of those movies that literally proves, NO not everything needs to be on 4k and that somethings need to stay on bluray or even DVD. The "collector's edition cheapness makes it even worse.

300 bucks is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a anniversary edition of something. But for me personally, it would be worth it to get that cool VHS copy of it. I think that’s the only reason why people are gonna buy it is because of the VHS copy that it comes with. VHS should seriously make it come back. It would be like the biggest business move ever if VHS made it come back. They just started releasing every single movie ever on VHS even releasing more modern films on VHS films that came out within the past 16 years.

So...for $300 you get what I would guess is a $40 4K and a $20 VHS tape, which means the remaining $240 is eaten up by the chainsaw itself. Lesson learned: FOMO is a cruel mistress.

Dude you aren't alone in having buyer's remorse so don't feel bad. I didn't get this because of the price and I doubt it'll get sold out and will likely get a price drop. I wouldn't get rid of the box. Maybe fold it so if you move you can put it in there. The VHS is cool, perhaps it'll be Widescreen as VHS did have Widescreen versions, especially towards the end. As for those roasting you, it's envy plain & simple. And hell I'm jealous of many of the stuff you have but if you worked hard for it good for you enjoy.

Funny enough I also just once got a buyers remorse for a chainsaw "merch". The chainsaw controlloer for GC for RE4. I didn´t even love the game. It was fine and that´s it. Plus, you couldn´t even play with it. The moment I went to the store and asked for it, when the words came out of my mouth I regretted it. Yet still I paid for it. That thing isn´t worth. Much less for a franchise as Texas. Never seen the appeal of it or the character either.

Its crazy for $300 and they don't even give you a poster, least those big expensive bundles from Scream Factory which is just like $150 or something you get posters, slip covers, pins, etc. In this they just give you a VHS and a 4K, they seriously think the plastic chainsaw makes the price the justifiable.

It would have been nice to have a 50th anniversary set that’s designed to look like a photo album from the late 1950’s. In front, fill it with color stills from the movie; intermittently attach a vinyl sleeve. In one, place the 4K; in another the remake; in still another include the Blu Ray; the back part of the album could be text essay, and behind the scene photos. On the inside back cover, couch a VHS copy. I’d plunk down $200 on something like that.

If it is $300 then they should have released it with a copy of the original script(that would be a fun read), a poster, the Netflix film(since you can't get that on DVD) and included the game along with it, plus what you have. That would still be over priced by a good bit, but at least there would be more stuff worth having.

When Dark Sky first unveiled this I thought to myself "Why the hell would anyone buy this?" Dark Sky seems to be trying to cater to the boutique label crowd with their Dark Sky Selects but so far all their non-standard releases have been outrageously priced and the quality doesn't justify the cost. I'd be shocked if this sells out anytime soon. Good with my Second Sight Limited Edition
