of course.... If you look at the position they hold on the global political compass.... The Tories are JUST to the left of the centre line and slightly below the authoritarian/liberal line (to the liberal side). Labour are a little further left - but only a little and slightly above the A/: line (tot he authoritarian side). They are both actually pretty central in the overall picture - and very close to each other actually. If you only look at the 2 - they LOOK left and right, but thats only relative to themselves. There are NO right wing parties in this country - even reform is only JKUST to the right of the centre line - but still a centrealist party in global terms. The furthest left are actually the Green Party. LibDems are further from the centre point than either labour or cons - not on the left/right scale but they are quite a way form the centre line in the liberal/authoritarian axis - on the liberal side. In fact, of all the parties in the world - the british conservatives are the one closest to dead centre (if a little to the left).

Your point makes no sense at all. Many millions of former Conservative voters are now voting labour. This is the reason why Labour is going to win the election. Democracy is about bringing people together under your values. Diane Abbot does not represent traditional Labour. She supports Northern Irish and Scottish Independence and frankly is a liability to more social conservative traditional voters in Northern England and Wales. Labour needs to move past the London socialist to win.
