Thank you so much for this! And especially thank you for the last segment where you also showed how to record vocals on a separate track. A little tip for those who might find it useful. If you find a latency between the vocals and the sound track through voicemeeter, just record the track on to a track on Audacity. Then change both the output and the input to your *microphone* and turn off the voicemeeter. Then record your vocals. This way the latency will go away. Also, the vocals will be on track by themselves so that you can process the vocals - compress etc. - without messing with the soundtrack. Thanks again.

Brilliant video, If you have a video file eg .mp4 that you wish to e tract the audio from, simply drag it into a new audacity window and save it as an mp3 or wav file. I often video record our church services and extract the audio to fix any imperfections then upload the fixed audio back onto the video. Hint when fixing audio for video, fix the audio but do not delete any part of it else you lose the video sync, silence the pops but don’t delete them. I find it best to edit the video after the audio correction is done else it’s a fiddle to re align the track to the video

@MusicRepo4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, and good suggestion. It is actually on my list to do! But meanwhile, this is an older video where I covered how to sync video and audio from playing the piano. The principles are exactly the same, and this would work in almost all video editing software (I was using Camtasia but you can do this in iMovie - however you need to change to default to view audio waveforms) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWK9qXV7jNFqb5I

Total novice here so excuse the (likely) silly question. I've downloaded Voicemeeter but I'm not getting anything out on my virtual input. I've set my default device for playback to Voicemeeter input (I actually have 7 of these in my download - input, aux input, VAIO3 input and Voicemeeter in 1 - 4 - I've tried all). Any ideas what I might be getting wrong? I downloaded the basic Voicemeeter package.

This was helpful thank you. I am having a couple of issues...first, there seems to be some latency when singing to the backing track. Both go through VoiceMeeter however on playback it's clear that my vocals are a touch behind the song. Second, as I am new to all of this, are there ways to thicken up the vocals either coming out of VoiceMeeter or once in Audacity. When I click on effects and such, there is nothing there and not sure what plugins to load. Thanks!

I have a question please from another video you did ...... On a mixer with fantom power for the condenser microphone ..Can you use both condenser and cardioid microphones on the mixer at the same time , without seperate on / off buttons for each input ? ..P.S. thanks for liking my last comment.
@davidjones33844 жыл бұрын
Dynamic mics (cardioid, hypercardioid, omni, etc.) will be unaffected by the presence of phantom power on the inputs to which they are connected. The only issue I have had with phantom power was in a live performance when I had mic splitter boxes to send the mic signals to both the main PA mixer and to a monitors mixer. When phantom power was engaged on either mixer, the mic splitters transmitted no signal to that mixer. I doubt you'll be faced with that circumstance, so go right ahead - and enjoy!
