Great presentation, thank you. I love my scroll saw but thinking now I need a band saw for larger projects, I am just a retired woman who wants everything in the workshop. Drill press and Band saw are the last two item needed.

+Robert Trevena hey Robert! I sold mine a couple of months ago. it still was in perfect shape but for what I do now I needed something bigger. the bandsaw has always worked smoothly, one of the best you could buy for the price. my only complaint was the guide fence which is a bit flimsy, anyway nothing that should deter you from buying this piece of equipment if you have already set your mind on it. if you want other options you could look into JET bandsaw, but they might cost you a bit more

+ansiaaa I bit the bullet and have bought the BS250, it arrives tomorrow. It has the more conventional fence fitting and will more than adequate for my needs. Once again thanks for your input.

Well presented, that's a nice saw, saws in that size class here in America typically have aluminium wheels and less than a half horse power. 110v

Alan, that's just about the best video presentation of any power tool that I have seen. Extremely informative, clear and precise. Well done. I have been looking for a power saw tool for my son to start his own workshop in our garage at home and a bandsaw seems to fit the bill. All I need is to find a 300 model for the price of the 100 and I would be a happy bunny. Any shop soiled or refurbed machines available? Malcolm

Thanks for all the good information. Just perchest a BS250 but ordered the wrong length blade it is 1785x12.7. not arrived yet, but looking at the owners manual it should be 1790. Would the 1785 fit?
@RecordPowerTV2 жыл бұрын
Hi Trevor, thank you for your comment. This ultimately will depend on how accurate the blade manufacturer is with the cutting and welding, so unfortunately it is difficult to say, but the size which you have purchased may well fit the BS250. For additional advice from our experts, please call 01246 571 020 (and select option 2) or email technical@recordpower.co.uk. Best Wishes, Record Power.

Great information. However seen this video 3 days to late. I have just purchased a Schepach Bsssa 1 hobby saw but wish I had seen your video first. Psid just over £240 for it and it does ok but think I should of gone for a better one. Just wonder if I csn put sa wider blade on it, Still I'll give it a chance to prove itself. Maybe one day will purchase a top range Record saw.

I really like the video, but I wish you’d deinterlaced it before uploading to fix those jaggly edges. If you’ve still got the master, I could fix that for you (in return for a hefty bandsaw discount!)

RP is OK. Ive got one of their planer/thicknessers, the CL3 lathe and BS250.The bandsaw ive had about 14 years and it gets used a lot. For home/hobby up to home professional use i'd recommend their stuff. My experience runs to everything industrial also, but for home use, or a hobby turner its a great wee saw and its rigid enough to leave the blade on it under tension for months

Anyone else have problem with the wheel kit ? The catch does not seem to be correct ...when it's assembled it appears to be to short ...the bent section that catches is far to under the other section to catch on the lip ?
@toastywarm2569 жыл бұрын
+Steve Hawker My wheel kit was duff also but I emailed them and they sent me the replacement wheels I needed(the set supplied weren't tightened so they were bent) The catch was twisted and didn't want to properly seat against the bar that holds the machine aloft.They also sent me another catch, plus fixing kit and for some inexplicable reason a set of 4 legs.My wheel kit is on my thicknesser but I think theyre identical in operation. The free legs ill make into a stand for my RP bandsaw :D Cheers RP :DThe catch has some adjustment in that you can slide it back or forward about 1" the nyloc nut that holds it on needs loosened off to do this.I found that to operate the catch on mine I need to press down the pedal, then bend down, move the catch then release the pedal slowly. When im sure its engaged I let go.Bit of a mousetrap with 80kg resting on it lol
@steveonimac9 жыл бұрын
I called record they sent me a new catch but still the same ...... I just don't catch on the lip of the foot pedal,I will not move it often tho. I will have another go at it sometime but not a problem really

Have you tried bending it ? This is where the go pro and a vid would help. Anyone know a quality vid sharing site ? lol
