Having to spend an enormous amount of money on RSD titles (some of which we won't be able to sell), to make little profit in an attempt to drive traffic into our stores isn't enough, huh?
@larryketzes55826 ай бұрын
I would simply say that I see other record stored really trying to go the extra mile on RSD to get regular, repeat, and loyal customers. If you choose not to do that, np. Your choice. But the store I went to, I dropped over 340 bucks and didn't even get a thank you. and that after waiting in line behind a lot of folks to go in. Maybe as a customer, that isn't enough. But there is always 2 sides to a story. Thanks for your comments!

Being an RSD participant since the very beginning- I have had the pleasure of enjoying some of the most entertaining events. Store owners pulled out all the stops to show off their businesses and of course sell some new titles. Any store owner who feels like this day is a hassle needs to go back a read why this event started. There is obviously a big boom in the industry right now but like anything else that will change and the creative store owners will keep their dream alive. So let’s have fun with this event and smile that we all have something in common that we love ❤

THANK YOU! AGREE! Make it anevent that it's suppose to be! It's going to play out if is left to die! and it will die if it's not looked after. It's an Event and should be catered to! Money for Disc is hard to come by.........the consumer should be treated better, or at least not treated as Cattle! in fact most the cows I know of are treated alot better!

lol - cattle or pets - I used to have a boss that (over)used that analogy- your right - I had a local record store get snarky with me on Instagram (private message) after they posted they’re RSD in store list and I asked why they were not carrying certain titles - they told me in a very patronizing way that I needed to pre-select all the titles I wanted and they would stock them. How the f$#k was I supposed to know that!!?? Then when I asked when they open they responded “noon, we are not opening early- we are in no hurry” - they lost a customer- I SERIOUSLY would rather shop at a B&M in lieu of Amazon - but with that kind of attitude- NOT!!! Thanks for the feedback- let’s keep the dream alive!!

Nice follow up and some great picks! That Bill Evans is virtually an OJC without the hype sticker. Cut by RKS (or his apprentice), pressed at RTI. Folks believe the Stereo version will be released as an official OJC. Phil’s was a blast. Lots of friendly folks, coffee, and a breakfast food truck. Dropped a video of the day. PS, I told him you guys said hi!

Thanks much good to know 😊 - I think you know where we will be going to our next RSD 😉 - thanks for staying in touch with us - as mentioned we have some cool stuff coming up PLUS some upgrades to our gear - as you and everyone will hear, I had some serious technical challenges with audio on this video but we will tighten it up!!

@@goldenimagemusic there were some folks that mentioned they’ve historically gone to the store you spoke about and decided to change it up this time. I spent 3-4 hours hanging out, chatting with people afterwards. I’m looking forward to watching you guys evolve. We’re all local, we have to support each other otherwise we don’t have a community 😉
@goldenimagemusic6 ай бұрын
Spot on!! Thank you for supporting us - as we further evolve here I want to have guests like you on the show (and try to stump Larry in Rock trivia) 😮. We are TRULY about the community 😊 - we appreciate the feedback and stay tuned!!

About NC and diners: We don't do diners, we do hole-in-the-wall mom and pop restaurants that make you go crazy to get back there the next week. Where are you at in NC? I'm in the Coastal Plains, Goldsboro, NC.
@larryketzes55826 ай бұрын
Apex. NC. And you are right about the mom and pop places!

That Jazz Dispensary is amazing!!! Are you guys near Noble Records? I bet Dylan's store was fun!!!!
@goldenimagemusic6 ай бұрын
We are a few hours away from Noble records - we did a vinyl road-trip in March and had a blast (1st video on the new channel 😉) - Dylan is the man !

I broke my ankle in three places two weeks ago, so I couldn't get out for RSD. So, I had a RSD Toto IV that was still sealed; it's actually the only RSD record I've ever had, as I've never been to a store on RSD. So yesterday, I broke the seal and spun that Toto IV and it's noisy as hell on the right channel. I thought it was a problem on my end, so I immediately swapped the record out and I had no issues; went back to the Toto IV and the problem came right back. What the heck? I'm going to try to clean it. I thought RSD was supposed to be big on quality control and so forth. Also, this album came with a terrible paper inner sleeve, instead of a poly-lined sleeve. I just thought RSD was going to be better than that, but I guess not.
@larryketzes55826 ай бұрын
I guess like most everything......it depends. But if we are expected to pay premium prices, quality should not be an issue for sure!!!!
@larryketzes55826 ай бұрын
by the way, hope your ankle is feeling and getting better!

Hey - sorry to hear about your accident 😮 - hope you heal quickly! Hopefully you have LOTS more records to listen to during the downtime- as I mentioned briefly on the video, I have had plenty of warped and shitty records from record store day - there was a point I almost gave up - but I will admit every copy that I got this year and every copy Larry has so far has been in tiptop shape - I saw a video where they talked about the quality control and on most of these factories were more craft releases, but now it appears that they are getting better- they better dammit for the prices their charging!!! Stay cool - get well. - Todd-

@@goldenimagemusic @Larryketzes5582 thanks for the well wishes. It's my third week; not supposed to be able to work for three months. Lots of pain still and it's almost impossible to get around. The LORD has blessed me with a nurse wife and a daughter who's almost out of nursing school; so there's that! LOL!

Oh Boy!! Another RSD!! This means old men getting up at 3am to go stand in a long line for the chance to get an overpriced record and the FOMO is tremendous Too many live albums that sound horrible, too many picture discs that you can’t play,too much colored vinyl on recordings that you already own!! Just my opinion but it’s not that fun anymore
@larryketzes55826 ай бұрын
I agree, and I really think things have to change soon as people are going to get very tired of paying crazy prices for stuff they will learn they really don't need. I'm done with paying 39 bucks for a piece of vinyl on RSD. Changes!!! And I sooooo agree with you about colored vinyl and picture discs! I want to buy good music. Don't care what color it is since I'm busy Listening!!!! Thanks for the comments....

We need to rise up - band together- and make it right - just because there’s a big resurgence doesn’t mean that these record store owners can start taking advantage of us - let’s have some fun with us from both the store and the customers perspective - thanks for tuning in look for some more good stuff coming!!
