Hi Mike I love RSD unfortunately in Australia not many stores participate anymore and the prices are a huge issue E.G Oasis is $250 Dada $130 Most other titles are over $100 This will be the demise of RSD in Australia Someone please listen to us Down Under and do something about the pricing

Album prices in general in Australia are ridiculous
@arzabael
@arzabael 2 сағат бұрын
My friend you’re preaching to the choir in America. Prices have gone up around the whole world, and Australia’s seem higher then America because inflation not actual higher prices. The oasis will be around 170$ which is almost 250$ in Australian dollars. The price of milk eggs bread gasoline electricity everything has gone up, along with all of our means and paychecks, but we always refuse to move with the times and stop seeing things today the way we saw them twenty years ago, such as how 100$ use to be a lot, now it’s only a lot through psychologically because it’s not a lot anymore and your government can’t actually do anything about that it’s the rest of the world that calibrates all these things to be what they are. If you want to truly know if something has actually gone up in price without having a reason you need to use be British pound as the reference. Because right now there are Brit’s saying “omg the oasis is 130£ that’s so unheard of” but if they were saying it’s higher than 130£ than it wouldn’t be natural inflation it would just be raised prices because it’s not matching the price with the nations 1/1 inflation ratio. My point is please don’t ask the government to save the people from high record prices, if they could do anything they’d be doing it elsewhere and not within the record industry and the effects would lead to the record industry and we’d get what we want, but there are too many world owners who transcend world government who like the world being the way it is right now. So go along and get along friend because people being born today will always see 250$ Australian dollars as a big dinner maybe

I think this is a great list with The Doors, STP, Alan Parsons Project, Lennon, the Jet demos and live songs, etc…but I enjoy RSD and chatting in line and the festive atmosphere of the day as well as the live camera in the shop to watch later with the running comments.

I like watching the profiteers trying to charge huge prices for the first few weeks after rsd, but then the prices crash and finally back to somewhat normal. Yes, a few prices go and stay high, but very few. Taylor’s stuff is in a bubble, I wonder how the long term values will pan out once the bubble bursts. 🤔

When I saw the list I was highly relieved because there was not a single album on it that would be even remotely essential for me to acquire, and I could save myself the time and energy of waiting outdoors in what will likely be frigid temperatures, given how the date has been moved up by a couple of weeks, for an extra long time (given the fact that there is a Taylor Swift product this year). I’m potentially interested in Out of Our Heads as there was a spectacular audiophile pressing of the first UK Stones album issued for Record Store Day in (I believe) 2023. But the lithograph that was included in that was a disappointment visually. (This new Out Of Our Heads release will likewise contain a lithograph). Perhaps the only other RSD album I might be interested in is the set by The Lemonheads. If the Talking Heads set was 33 1/3 RPM I’d consider it, even though I’ve owned this concert on LP for about 45 years. (These LPs like others in the series were issued to radio stations but many found their way to independent record stores back then).

Despite a big list every year, it'll never satisfy every collector. To be honest it's not a hope for me there will be many wanted records. I get happy when there's nothing I want so I don't spend more money. Lol. I'm not a flipper either and go buy a stack of 20 records to get a nice profit like I've seen. So no reason to get upset on a weak list at all.😂
