Fremer as much as I like him he’s wrong. Mikes point is no you can’t guarantee every record is perfect but at $575 your QC needs to be off the charts so every record that gets to the public is perfect. Fremer says how great his lacquer sounds most people don’t have an insanely expensive turntable and insanely expensive cartridge and takes perfect care of it.

Got fed up with the 2014 mono, sounded too flat for me, replaced it with the 2022 remix, which I enjoy. When in need of the authentic Revolver experience I can always pull out my 1966 mono copy from Argentina, which has a lot of bass punch. Same goes for Sgt Pepper.

I don’t understand why, over a month after the release, AP has not sent you the Donny Hathaway. They show in stock on their site so why are they not sending it to you? I see you have the VU which was released at the same time.
@TheInGrooveКүн бұрын
I have the Donny Hathaway on its way and should have it next week. However, I wish they shipped to retail stores on the release date. Every significant release gets me bogged down with customer emails, wondering where their records are.

People are buying Tres Hombres the most out of the Rhino High Fi’s because it the best Album (start to finish) of the first five. No way they’re buying it Just for La Grange (their most overplayed song) 😂. It’s not the only hit on the album either. The first three tracks were hits too. I wish Rhino HF would do Eliminator! That would sell like hot cakes

Yes Mike. The repeated beat in the runoutgroove of Go Insane's Play In The Rain on side A is still intact. This buckinghamreissuebox is awesome. Out Of the Cradle has been very hard to find on vinyl and if so, very expensive. It would cost you way more than this boxset. Even in mediocre condition. Buckinghams solowork is so friggin underrated. Greetings, Gerald from the Netherlands.

There was a MTV video clip taken from the concert movie The Secret Policeman's Ball that had Pete Townshend, paired up with classical guitarist John Williams, performing Save It For Later. It was Sting who wore an The Beat t-shirt on the Don't Stand So Close To Me music video.

Ive got 2600+ records. Ive got one mastered by Luthens, Kenny Burrell & John Coltrane 2024 OJC. Its one of the worst remasters ive ever had! At the same time i prefer Steve Hoffman and Bernie Grundman jobs to KPG's brighter, narrower masterings.

Glad you hit that jackpot. We need another word in English to differentiate audiophiles from music lovers. This guy was on it for the money; all those sealed records make it seem obvious what he actually thought about music. In Spanish we have audiofilo, which is audiophile (people who buy records to listen to the equipment) and melómano (someone who finds immense pleasure in listening music).

When you talk about some of the vocals sounding weird on the reissue I wonder if they used auto-tune on the voices because there are a lot of albums that are reissued that they do this wings of Pegasus Channel talks about this and it is a real crime I can't believe they would do something like that to these beautiful voices I hope that's not the case with this album and I wonder if Fil would check that out if you asked him?

I'll rant right along with you on Rhino's funky mailers - This ultimate version of a record, perfect in every other way, arrives at your door with bashed corners because they cheaped out on the shipping box. How frustrating. Recent orders have improved in this aspect. I've also had orders that took over a month to arrive which were totally available to ship. No place for suggestions or, gripes, or criticisms on their website.

Your shop is almost there. A record store needs to be like fine wine- vintage. What you need- less light. A record store needs to be dark. A warm cave of wonders. Lots of light is Target. You don't want to be Target. You need more grime on the floor. A record store should not be clean. You need layers of Xeroxed punk rock flyers tacked to the walls. Throw the promo poster for Tyler Swift in the garbage. Have the walls ozzing of rock and roll history. Don't have a bathroom. Make people pee at the closest coffee shop. Make the windows blacked out with more old posters and flyers. Make the outside look like a store front that has been there for a hundred years. Make it ozz history. Make sure your shop is not right next to a chiropractor or dentist or state farm office or HAndRBlock or some other boring buisness. Being next to a thrift store or pawn broker or coin op laundry or dive bar would be perfect. Make sure you have a neon sign out front but make sure it's half out or flickering. Keep the records in milk crates and have hand made genre and alphabetical signage. Sell a bunch other ephemera. Have a music snob man the register who will actually kick people out for asking about bad pop music. Do these things and your store will be legendary.
