Nice pick up’s Martin. I had to get the shaky 12inch online from Banquet records, so it’ll take a few days to come, I have the original 12inch copy to from 1985 - advent doors never opened on the original either!, There was actually 2 12inch singles released originally. The other one has an extended version of Merry Christmas Everyone and the cover is designed like wrapping paper with Shaky’s head tearing through! By the way - With My Heart was the B Side of the original 7inch. It’s a track from the Lipstick album!, I know it’s authentic, but would of been nice if they had included an inner sleeve for the re issue,

Thanks, I had a feeling there were two 12”. I thought With My Heart was on the 7” but couldn’t be arsed to fish out my copy to check! I too would have preferred an inner but they would probably have had moans if they did.

Some good RSD selections there Martin. Merry Christmas Everyone was the only record I owned by Shaky back in the day. I wouldn't open the advent calendar windows either. It's good that your viewers are checking out A Slice Of Vinyl and travelling to Gosport to see the store.

Great finds! I was one of the people who mentioned your videos when I popped into A Slice of Vinyl a couple of months back. I visited from Bournemouth and also went to Heathen Chemistry too. Both great shops....very friendly too!!

Hi Martin, great video as always 👍 A few questions - How does the Jimi Hendrix sound? Is the queue like that normally for RSD Black Friday?

I’ll let you know about Hendrix when I spin it (shouldn’t be long). It’s the first RSD Black Friday I’ve done so I’m not sure, last year I was working so just got what I could at the end of the day when they were put online and I think the year before there was nothing I wanted.

Hendrix sounded as good as can be expected for the time, sound is a bit muddy for the first track but after that is fine, they’ve left in all the stage banter and even Hendrix tuning his guitar so it really feels like a bootleg but it’s a great set.

Have you ever tried Pie & Vinyl ? I know that's in Portsmouth.I have never been personally but have heard good things...

No because they only sell new vinyl and I can get that anywhere.
