Nice one, Matt! Same rules apply to Windows, except for one thing. You cant tell Windows OS which specific set of UAD outputs you want it to utilize. The work-around is to assign whatever Virtual Outputs you want to utilize as Outputs 1-2 on the I/O Matrix. The quick way to do this is to create an I/O Matrix preset with that pair of outputs set to 1-2 and you name the preset something obvious to your purpose. Edit: Thanks so much for linking to my video on the subject!

Excellent! Please feel free to drop a link to your Windows version and I'll mention it in the description.

@@MattHepworth I just published my Windows version of this workflow. Feel free to check it out and thanks for the invitation! Cheers, brother!
There is no I/O Matrix in my Console. Using Apollo Solo with Windows.

Ah, darn. Solo doesn't have that, as far as I'm aware.

@@MattHepworth another reason why UAD is a garbage company! they continue trying to capture the consumer grade market and then paywall key features. youtube rappers shoulda never got their hands on the apollo

I'm following these instructions step by step and I'm getting all the way to when I select inputs in ProTools. No signal hitting the DAW. Not sure what's going on.
@MattHepworth2 ай бұрын
Do you get signal from your normal inputs?

I have Apollo Twin MK2 and I monitor through Console. In Ableton, i try to record a clip and for whatever reason, the recording picks up the ENTIRE session, including the metronome, instead of recording just the one source. Is it because loopback is enabled in Console? Frustrating to say the least to hit record and the recording picks up EVERYTHING audible instead of the one-thing you're trying to record. Possibly an issue with routing? Any insight on how this can be resolved?
@MattHepworth4 ай бұрын
On the Twin you don't have the virtuals, so you'd need to use Mon, which is not ideal if there are other things going on.

i have a small room and once in a while i record vocals in the same room but when i playback for the artist i forget to mute the mic and i get awful feedback. Is there a way i could imulate tape style like the old days ? where the mic gets muted on playback ?
@MattHepworth5 ай бұрын
Try Mute-o-matic. I use it for TB and LB.

@@ernieg Ah, sorry. I misunderstood. No, you'll need to mute that channel before unmuting the monitors.

Can I do that to a lot of channels? Ex: use ezdrummer and export it to 16 individual tracks. Can I loop them into individual tracks in console?
@MattHepworth8 ай бұрын
Interesting. You could get up to 8 into Console that way.

What about Logic?
@MattHepworth7 ай бұрын
Should work the same with Logic. Make sure you have the Virtual inputs assigned in Logic's audio setup.
