As I sit here at our dinner table, I am finishing up a plate of picadillo with arroz. My kids tell me thanks momma this is my favorite plate, I love when you make this. I just remember when they were little, I didn't know how to cook. I was 19 or 20 years old. My mother was not involved in my life, so I was so clueless in the kitchen. I jumped on KZbin and looked for videos, and I came across abuelas page! Silvia, I just want to tell you and your family, Thank you for sharing her with us. She was a huge part of how I cook today. I'm sorry to hear about your abuela, I have been a big fan for awhile now, I even learned how to make a couple of her dishes. I lost my oldest son this year and I remember one time he came downstairs and asked what was I watching on KZbin. Well it was one of your abuelas recipes and he stayed and watched it with me. I played this song in the video at his funeral ( I played the Miguel version is so beautiful too ) and that's what reminded me of that moment. I was going to meet her one day in Moreno Valley a couple of years ago, but I chickened out. Thank you for sharing her with us.
