Damn all these button combinations are harder than doing a street fighter combo😂

😆 yup this one is too much. I know I’ll forget it in a few weeks

Another tip that would make things easier is to mute all your drums and percussion so only your sample chops play, do a pattern to sample (there's YT vids on how to do this) and assign the new sample to a pad in the same bank you have your drums programmed in so you'll only have ONE pad to try to mute your chops with instead of multiple ones. All your chops would be on one pad so all you'd have to do is hit the pad at the beginning of the pattern in record mode and no matter where the chops begin within that pattern , everything would line up perfectly.... Basically you're making a stem.

That could definitely help in certain situations yeah! There is also of course just the option of copying a new pattern and deleting the bits you don’t want in order to make a pause. Lots of options to get the same result with this device which makes it pretty fun in a weird way 👊

@@spvidz That's the main thing I've learned about the 404 MK2.... There's several workflow options you can choose from and it's most likely one would be perfect for you.

Thanks for this! This is one feature I had yet to get down, so this helps a lot.
@spvidzАй бұрын
same here lol! Glad I looked into it and figured it out. Just hope I can remember it in the future!

@ I saved your video to a playlist because I know I’m gonna forget. 😂 Also, I just grabbed my first 303. I’d love to see more vids of you combining the 202 or 303 with the 404mkii. It would be good to learn more workflows with two machines.
@spvidzАй бұрын
Yeah I need to start using those again more. Haven’t touched both for a few months. Been using the lofi12-xt a lot recently

@ I wish you’d get a P-6. Would love to see comparisons with the 202. :)

You can also remove it from pattern 6 choose the pattern 6 then go to the pattern edit press(hold) del and then reverse
@spvidzАй бұрын
Thanks yeah I just peeped that in the manual and should have included it here...!

Great video. Can you do the same thing with the Akai MPC Live II?
@spvidzАй бұрын
Cool yeah. I need to get back on it. Not touched it for quite a while and haven’t even updated to the new software yet 🥴😂
@fredicagoillanoise1309Ай бұрын
It's actually EASIER to do on the MPC Live, One and X/XSE

❤❤ good video tutorial, do you think the SP 404 is better than lofi sonicware 12 ?!
@spvidzАй бұрын
They can get similar results but all in all I would say the SP is the most useful around the studio. Everything I do goes through the SP at some point, its a beast!

dam this machine gos deep. im not an sp.user i use an mpc and the circuit rhythm amongst other stuff but i think the sp404 gonna be my next purchase as theres something about the drums on it i like ...iv heard the work flows a bit janky but theres not a bit of gear iv struggled learning so pretty confident id learn it pretty quick
@spvidzАй бұрын
If you know other gear it shouldn’t be too bad to learn. You get the basics quick and then the deeper stuff comes over time 👍

How do you undo if you mess up? Hitting shift+undo doesn’t work like it normally does
@spvidzАй бұрын
Don't think you can 'undo', only delete. You go into PATTERN EDIT and hold DEL + REVERSE
@lucasabdo4260Ай бұрын
@ Thanks!

I found that 3 quick presses on exit will terminate the sound. Slow presses don't seem to work.
@spvidzАй бұрын
Yeah thats a historic thing with the SPs, then on the MK2 they introduced SHIFT + EXIT but that doesn't do much in this mode. I used to hit REC then cancel on the SX to quickly mute everything!

is this with the 4.06 update?
@spvidzАй бұрын
From what I can tell it came in on 3.0 so its been knocking around a while, I've just not covered it before. 4.06 was just 'bug fixes' but apparently its made more bugs lol
